Let’s be honest if it wasn’t for the red card Ecuador would’ve won this game. Credits to Venezuela they took advantage of a 10 men Ecuador. But FSB made a stupid substitution by taking out Jermey Sarmiento for Carlos Gruezo. That’s when Ecuador lost the game. Hopefully both Ecuador & Venezuela make it out of the group.

Moreno was always critized for not being effective scoring when he played for the national team, but he was an important part of holding the ball and exhausting the stoppers for Miku, Salomon and Arango to score. He was an important gauge of the national team. Cheers!

The red card is a perfect example of how officiating in futebol needs to change. It was definitely a red card play. Did the Venezuelan player over sell it? Absolutely. But he has to do that in order to get the referee to look at the play. Why does he have to do that? Is there a better way to get those calls without players having to dive and/or pretend to be hurt and injured on the field?

Anyone who has seen the game would understand that if Enner wasnt sent off Ecuador would of won that game. Ecuador dominated up until the red card and everything went downhill. This was Ecuador's most important game and would of given them one foot into first place and avoid Argentina in the next round. For their next game against Jamaica its going to be extremely difficult as Ecuador is basically left with no pure number 9 and their are going to hace to rely on a injured Kevin Rodriguez or a out of form Jordy Caicedo. Also a hot take Venezuela are kind of overrated.

I’m part Ecuadorian and therefore have followed the Ecuador NT for a long time. I have never seen a team more strangely overrated as this one. The only player in that entire squad who has achieved anything of note is Hincapié. In their last seven major tournaments, Ecuador has won a total of four matches. FOUR. That is horrendously subpar, for a CONMEBOL side that somehow fancies itself at the same level as Chile, Uruguay, and Colombia. It is looking like another wasted summer by the worst performing nation in the Copa’s history.

This is Ecuadors golden generation. With players like Kendry Páez, Moisés Caicedo, Jermey Sarmiento, Piero Hincapie & many more. The only problem is they got rid of Gustavo Alfaro. Alfaro came in & took over Ecuador a month before the 2022 World Cup qualifiers started and literally took Ecuador to the 2022 World Cup. They honestly should’ve won that game vs Netherlands when they were robbed from the goal that Pervis Estupiñan scored. If Gustavo Alfaro was still the coach this Ecuador team would be doing so much better and would’ve been favorites to win the Copa America. But Sadly FEF decided to fire him and bring the worst coach from the 2022 World Cup 🤦🏽‍♂️. And sadly Ecuador ain’t going nowhere and are in danger of not qualifying to the 2026 World Cup if Felix Sanchez Bas remains as Ecuadors coach.
