The most obscure SC2K port has the best version of the soundtrack.

I remember that if you pop in the disc in a normal disc player, there is an extended version of the Intro song. That was my jam!!

that intro in Sega Saturn version is badass! Also, "Dancing Megapolis" is my most favorite game soundtrack in Sim City 2000. It's so relaxing

When I was a kid, I was kinda creeped out by that “Skyscrapers” song. Not only is it an overall dark track, but it has that weird bird cry sound. I always thought that sound was the alien monster robot approaching the city, waiting to strike.

"Growing Up Town" drum pattern is so "unconventional" that I used to think something was wrong with my version of the game on PC, it sounded like someone's first attempt at composing MIDI without knowing the tools, mashing the keys randomly XDD LOL

Key to success is best on the PS1 imo. Its iconic. Everything else sounds amazing on the saturn
@maquinarama16897 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the PlayStation version, but, for some reason, the saturn soundtrack sounds more "clean". The playstation version seems to use reverb, or something like that.

The Gran Turismo games have a pretty similar vibe to them. A lot of lounge Jazz, often mixed with synth. Cities Skylines also some synth based radio stations that are listenable here on KZbin.

@@synthnation9857 no problem! I might also recommend checking out the synthwave and retrowave creators here on KZbin. There's a ton of synthwave remixes, as well as a lot of original albums. Hotline Sehwani is a great starting point if you like Sega and Nintendo related soundtracks.

+Westley West (Wizard) The PS1 could have been the best port ever, since it's superior on everything except the one main factor of sim city: Control. Using the cursor on a ps1 controller is NOT FUN

Westley West Are you serious?! I played the PS1 port before the DOS and Windows version and for 5 years i played that port without knowing that you can have a mouse. So in short, the PS1 version is great. Not perfect, the UI is terrible and there's no african swallow speed (the cheetah speed is slower than the one in the DOS)
