This is pretty nice. I think the arcade version has a bit more punch to it though.

This is an entertaining game (if a little strange). Has a good soundtrack.

The loading music sounds so sad... I want that played at my funeral.

Yeah, the game used magnetic bubble memory, which needed time to physically warm up, and then the game had to be copied from bubble memory into regular RAM. This process took a few minutes, hence the music and countdown. The melody is called the Morning Music because it would play every time you switched on the arcade cabinet. People would show up to arcades first time in the morning, just to listen to the music.

I have it on the X68000. But due to the hardware being really hard to use I've yet to play it. But someday I'll get it fired up and experience for myself.

That loading theme is very Bach.

Yeah it's actually originally called "Morning music" in Gradius which sorta explains the baroque style. It's like a sweet analogy between the machines being turned on as the arcade is about to open its doors and the organ of a church announcing the mass is about to begin

I think the SC-55 does an excellent job to this game's soundtrack than the MT-32.

Love this soundtrack. Also not to be a dick, but her last name is Yamane. I would know because I have the original floppy discs of this game complete in box. I'm sure she would appreciate it if you could just edit that one M.
