California has changed so much. I was homeless as a teen for several years as a surf bum. Cops would kick your but back then for being homeless, so we had to keep a low profile. I worked part-time at Burger King and had all the money I needed. Mean cops taught me to be stealthy and a survivor. Haha I'm an electrician now and own my own house, debt free. Being homeless was fun and free! I didn't do drugs, just surf all day long and sleep in the sun.

She's a good girl, but laying and horsing around in front of trash trucks and other vehicles is not a wise idea and it also creates stress for the drivers making there work day less pleasant. I used to deliver construction materials and running into pedestrians was a constant worry because you couldn't see them in front of the hood of the stake bed delivery truck I drove, 😲

They all humor her but she is just wasting their time. They are going to do what they are going to do. I have watched several videos with Daisy in them and she really doesn't make any progress. They listen to her and are patient with her, but in the end, they clear the homeless out of there. One thing she is right about is that as soon as the city leaves, the homeless will come back to the beach and recreate their living space. Daisy needs pychiatric care but, this country has pretty much little to nothing to help people like her. We used to have state hospitals but they were not really helping most of the patients. So, in the 70s the majority of the states closed the faciliities and released the patients into the wild like animals. They all became homeless. Moreover, these hospitals grouped the most mentally ill patients with patients that were just distubed like Daisy and the patients that weren't that bad and who might have recovered, instead, got worse. The answer would be to divert money from senseless spending into quality care for the homeless and mentally ill. The truth is, our congress does not really care about the homeless. Look at Nancy Pelosi. She represents a distric where the homess problem is very prominent. But Nancy has not addressed this sufficiently to quell the problem. There is a solution if the powers that be in our government cared enough to do something about this.

The lunatic asylums were for incarceration without due process or a means of legal appeal, or defense. Inmates had no voice, and would loose all credibility. Some of the reasons inmates were taken were ludicrous. Horrific experiments were conducted on patients without their consent. This is all well documented. The lunatic asylums were deemed a violation of basic human rights during the Regan administration. It wasn't an issue with funding.

Not since '92 but I circle the drain constantly in my old age and homelessness now could only be hellishly worse.
