It is expensive but I moved to Venice from Fort Lauderdale and it's way cheaper than Lauderdale by far. I would say homes here are 50% cheaper than Fort Lauderdale for instance an old house in Fort Lauderdale close to the beach is going for 1 million plus and in Venice we just bought a new build near the beach for half that and it's new. that price of 1 million is for an old home that needs everything. So for me Venice wins price wise coming from Fort Lauderdale. But I would say however, that Florida as a whole though is getting unattainable.

To add venice is the first master planed town in floroda by John Nolan and designed it around venice Italy there are many parks and trails . There is a plethora of restaurants Venice has 4 beaches and manisota has 4 beaches Venice also does not charge for any parking at beaches other tha the state park beach manisota key which is 3 dollars

Is it true that what makes the gulf beaches sand so white, that it is ground up quartz?

Yes, the white sand is actually quartz. The more quartz a beach has the whiter the sand will be. Siesta Key beach has about 99% fine quartz and it's the whitest beach from the ones I have seen. Other beaches are a mixture or quartz and regular sand.

My parents moved from Bradenton to Parrish, several years ago, and live i. the last phase I think, of Lakewood Ranch. We would like to move down to be closer, but like the idea of being closer to the beach. Neil is who built their home. We do not have a realtor in Florida yet, we are moving from TN. Lived all over Florida, and that is one of my favorite things about Venice. It is a slower pace and has old Florida charm. I will take “nursing home” over hustle bustle anytime
