I can still recall in July of that year the ladies did a watch party together with their world-wide fans, and the show was phenomenal 19 songs and in 2 hours of pure awesomeness.

Thanks for continuing with Lovebites. There have been lots of bands who could play hard rock and metal, but writing and performing a truly beautiful ballad is completely different thing, and few bands can pass the test. Lovebites are able to surprise us because they have studied many genres of music and know how to use all the tools to tell a story. That plus endless supplies of talent.

As a devotee of the band this is my favourite performance of anything by the band. By that I mean that I don’t think the studio version stands out on the album as much as this version does live. It is a truly epic metal ballad and was, I understand, the first “rock” song Asami had ever written. Her soul background shows and for me she should be a household name, as indeed they all should. Aside from Miho, whose role in this is to keep everything stable, everyone is putting soooo much feeling into this performance, Haruna to a lesser extent but executing her fills beautifully, Midori for opening and closing the song with two completely different musical instruments and moods, Miyako for her achingly beautiful solos, clever piano work like the little jazz flourish (that you talked over twice..😂😂) and especially Asami who pours her very being into the vocals. She has said that she always treats every song she sings as if it was to be her last, and nowhere is that more evident than Epilogue, and particularly this performance. I discovered it very early in my voyage of Lovebites discovery, like, the third or fourth song I’d heard by them (like yourself). It was while watching this for the first time that my instant judgment in the first track I heard (which for the life of me I can’t remember what it was!] that I had a new favourite band was firmly cemented in my mind. There is no better band playing and recording at this moment in time. If the world was in any way even remotely sane, Lovebites would be superstars, a household name. But instead they persevere in relative obscurity, overshadowed by the likes of Band Maid and BabyMetal, who can’t hold a candle to these girls. Still, the fact we are “in” on one of the greatest secrets in music makes it that bit more special and intimate. At the moment it’s relatively easy to interact with them occasionally on social media. If they got the recognition their talent deserves they’d be, of necessity, more remote. Jeez I’ve gone off on one today, but I love this song and this band so much it makes me want to sing their praises to anyone who will listen. And it’s thanks to people like you that they are slowly but surely gaining in popularity. Another great reaction, and that’s not a platitude!!

emotional, lyrics the song, expression singer, gesture the player music and interpretation is all mixed, you can see,.. these ladies were very talented in art they has become storytellers musicians in this song

On the studio record Clockwork Immortality Epilogue is the last song. It does not have Midori's awesome solo at the end. Instead the song fades out. They added the extra coda by Midori for the live version and she kills it. The song to me reminds me a bit of Scorpions Still Loving You from Love at Frist Sting. Midori's coda reminds me of the staccato style of Gary Moore. The bass is understated but perfect for this song. It can be just as hard to play a slow part in a song like this because you have to really keep the timing down. Haruna fills in with drums providing the perfect accent to the guitars and Asami's vocals. Speaking of vocals, Epilogue really features Asami's ability as a blues singer. Miyako has said this song is one of the hardest for her to play live. I couldn't tell because they play this song to perfection. Overall, they prove time and again they are just as good or even better live as they are in studio. Lovebites will be seen as a classic band in years to come much the way we think of the great classic rock and metal bands of the 70's and 80's. Extraordfantabulousistic! Does that describe these talented musicians justly? You really paused and expounded on a lot of excellent points of how this song is played and structured.

The song you were reminded of and singing along is "Tonight" by Raemonn 🙂 I really enjoy your reactions to these great songs, but I'm hoping you'll also listen to some of their more thrashy or power metal songs in the videos to come and not "just" the balladesque ones. I don't know what the next 4 songs suggested but you have yet to witness the full on simultaneous dual attack of Midori and Miyako. Their technical ability in timing, sync, and shredding shames most guitarists. Notably "male guitarists". They have many songs of them shredding in their more power/thrash/speed metal tracks. Not to mention Haruna being a relentless machine on drums.
