G;day mate, well done with the hangi, a good attempt. We do it all the time here, The Māori have done it for years, be careful what type of wood that you use and different types of fuel for starting the fire, this can contaminate the food. When it's done for a large group, we use a 'skip' filled with dirt, this will feed up to 50 people. Enjoyed the video. ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ ☺☺

Oh wow thank you for your kind words. With the rocks I was more worried about them exploding, but I made sure I dried them the day before this vid. I used mainly beach to heat the rocks up. I want to try again, next time probably lamb as it has a higher fat content and not as long. Thanks for your comment my friend 👍

I'm wanting to do it again but may be with lamb as it has a higher fat content. Thank you for your kind words. I'm crawling towards the 1000. Take it steady

Nice one mate makes me want to try it out real soon!

Definitely worth it, try a meat with a higher fat content so the meat won't be at too much risk of drying out if it's over cooked

You have already got a flame? I sorry but I don't understand the nonsense with the firelighter,fatwood,and rod You clearly have a fire proof shovel and gloves,and hands no doubt made of asbestos????😂 But You win!!! A bit like hay box cooking? Liked and subscribed Kindest regards
@greenvalleyoutdoors6 ай бұрын
You are correct, 😂the reason for the ferro and fat wood for the 2nd fire was solely for the camera and that was it.😜 I used my gloves to place the rocks to keep mud transfer to a minimum and I moved rocks by hand to put them in a precise place on the meet. Thank you for your feed back my friend. Really appreciate it. Thank you so much for subbing 👍
