Sweet ride! I bought the same model/spec back in August and I've been loving it so far. I was in the market for an EMTB for quite some time and the Decoy Core 2 MX is really the best bang for the buck. The specs on this build are quality components and more than enough for most people. The only thing that I've done to my bike is throw on a coil shock and Magura rotors to add a lil extra bite to the Code R brakes. Everything else is good to go! I've taken it up the steepest climbs and gnarliest DH that Aliso/Laguna has to offer and this thing rips! Couldn't be happier with my purchase and I'm sure you will feel the same. That’s sick bro! Yeah the brakes are good right now. I’m use to the more bite style like xt and magura. Might try the rotor upgrade since I have spare ones. How does the coil feel? Really feeling the air shocks poppyness

@@CalaveraChronicles I love the coil shock! Super planted, just point and shoot lol I can still pop the bike of jibs and jumps when needed but I mostly ride steep, tech, chunky stuff so it fits my needs perfectly. Highly recommend if thats the type of riding you like to do.

Congrats on your new bike brother! I did a video a while back of me demoing the core 4 MX decoy and had so much fun on it. I'm like you and have to have two bikes. Maybe going for the core 2 is the answer for me as well. Great video man!

I see nothing wrong with getting an eBike. I've rode them and they're really fun! I think of it as a slow MX bike that you can take almost anywhere or a BOOSTED Mtn bike that takes away the painful climb and adds tech and a lot of weight. Personal, I like my semi-light weight bikes and I'm still kinda old fashion and don’t want tech and motors. I have thought about getting fat tire ebike for my dad's farm. He has Quads and those are nice but some narrow trails would be better on an eBike plus the long flat sections would be less boring to ride then when I'm on my mountain bike.

I put the better damper in my core 2 zeb, I also just ordered the r.s. rc2t coil shock for it. When the drivetrain wears out, planning on getting slx with xt shifter. Oh ordered a longer cable for display to battery and got rid of knock block headset.

Hi, nice vid! I’m researching about this core 2 decoy and is kinda worried about the battery, from the end you said you’re at 22 miles with 1 bar left.. how many hours ride was that? Has there been any problems with the bike since you owned it?

How’s it going. At the moment I don’t think they have a core 2. But I want to say when I bought mine I paid $5900 and now if you’re lucky you can get a core 3- 4 with a 720batt cheaper than my core2 lol. The ride was 2hrs 30 min moving and 3k elevation I think it was on full boost. So the 540 is probably good if you’re riding with other similar batteries and power level e-bikes or by yourself . You can manage it by using trail mode or eco once and awhile. I personally ride with full power big battery ebike riders. So the 540 did fall short when riding with my buddies. The 720 is definitely one of my most favorite upgrades. It got rid of that battery level anxiety. As far as issues go the only one was the bike would kinda skip gears on the highest(hardest) gear and trying to crank the crap out of it. I guess it was too much torque for that gearing and since it was the lowest drive train I’m sure there was some flex in the derailleur or something. I slowly upgraded some Things. The fork being one of them. What a difference. The stock 38 it came with was good. But the new ultimate is amazing. I plan on doing an over a year review vid so keep an eye out for that. I love everything about the decoy even though it’s been the same design for a long time now. Even though it’s an old design I feel like it was ahead of the game. It looks really nice and it ride great. No issues with the ep8 motor. I just wished it didn’t have that rattle.

I’m absolutely loving the bike brother! You actually just reminded me of the weight lol I definitely forgot about that just like the little rattling noise from the ep8 motor. I was actually talking to someone about this today. I felt really comfortable on the decoy coming from the sb150. The only difference that stood out was the modulation on the breaks. The decoy grips more, is more stable and it’s a plow machine so that added weight helps big time! I don’t do huge jumps but every jump I do on the sb150 the decoy can do just as good. So for me and my style of riding the weight is something I forget when I’m smiling the whole ride. As I stated the crew has added e-bikes to their fleet. So the ones that send it big still send it big on their ebikes. You won’t regret getting one. I also went for a large even though the sb150 is a medium. I feel like yt run a bit smaller. Let me know when you finally pull the trigger so we can go on a nice 20 mile ride at greer 🍻

how the super deluxe select holding up? since the bike is about 50lbs, and the shock doesnt have a climb switch, does it bob? or all good?

It’s been doing great! I personally like more air than recommended. I wonder if they factor in the extra 15-20lbs of the ebike? I’m loving how it feels at the moment but I do go to the travel pretty good. Thinking of slapping on a volume spacer just in case. I don’t feel the bob. Maybe because I’m flying up and you actually need some travel going over rocks and little features lol. So far the only things of done to it are -brake(shigura) -tire inserts(rimpact) -touch points(revgrips,hustlebikelabs pedals) -720 battery(even more miles and more smiles)

Thanks for taking the time to watch the vid! Man I absolutely love it! It’s fun going up and fun going down. I went from 8 miles to an average of 22 miles per ride. Max ride so far has been 25(stopped because I got hungry) This core 2 has definitely exceeded my expectations. Suspension has taking a bit of tuning but it feels great right now. The only draw back would be the noise of the ep8 but you get use to it lol other than that I haven’t regretted getting an ebike.

I probably still would go for the core 2. You’re not going to regret it! Bike is still feeling amazing. BOOST is my go to setting. So far the battery hasn’t been an issue. I do run out just in time before I’m done riding. If I ever plan on doing more than 25 miles I definitely need another battery or that 720mah upgrade. Thanks for the shout out too! 🍻
