I make this with whole wheat (soaked and cooked) , coconut milk and jaggery. A lavish sprinkle of cashews and added to cardamom are ghee fried clove pods.This makes the payasam very interesting and unique. One friend gave me the recipe and said it is Andra payasam. Addition of cloves is my own. Try it !

My grandmother used to prepare in our good olden days. She used to prepare this godumai payasam with godumai and cashew milk, those 2 were soaked for 3 hours and grinded in atukal.. such an awesome aroma will come in payasam. we too are using condensed milk these days :-) thanks sir for such nice dish menu..
