This dal makhani reminded me of my college days. My friend was a Bora Muslim from Gujarat and I am a Tamilian. On every Tuesday she would get this dal makhni and I would get Rasam rice. We would happily exchange the foods as she said she was bored of eating her food and loved the Rasam I brought. I absolutely love Dal Makhni and can eat it three times a day too. Great recipe Chef.

I seldom come back to cooking videos to leave comments after trying to recipe. Today I tried your dal makhni recipe and I’m eating it while I’m typing this comment. Thank you so so much chef! It’s exactly like the dal makhni we get from 5 star hotels or dhabas in Chennai. I’m living abroad and I’ve always missed that authentic taste. I’ve followed dal makhni recipes of several North Indians (since it’s their dish after all) but never got close to the taste. Dal makhni is always a hit or a miss. I had my suspicions going into the recipe since we are not cooking out the ginger garlic paste directly in oil. But omg it’s so silky smooth and flavorful. To those who are following this recipe - do it exactly the chef’s way. You’ll love it!

VB sir - also wanted to comment that it is quite easy to make this provided the dhal is soaked enough and washed well. I recommend adding lesser cream please. Adding the amount of cream mentioned makes us full sooner. But as you mentioned, it can be refrigerated for at least a week. Thank you sir! Followed your instructions meticulously.

Dal Makhani is one of my favourite North Indian dish. People say Paneer butter masala or other paneer varieties are best. But you need to try this one out. This is so healthy and as Bhat sir mentioned, with Phulka it will be amazing. This will go well with Tandoori roti and Naans. I have tried this with Jeera rice & ghee rice. It will be perfect with all.
