Venom as a character in a story without Spider-Man is like Joker without Batman or Lex Luthor without Superman, so there's a limit to what Sony can do with this character, in that context this was a fitting end to the trilogy. Tom Hardy will surely be missed as Eddie Brock But yes certain characters were hyped up like Toxin but not much screen time given The ending was actually pretty good since it showcased Venom's greatest strength which is his battle iq This movie is most probably a buildup to the next Spider-Man movie, its time for MCU Spider-Man and venom to meet

I liked the movie. Waste of 3D agreed, that's true for almost every Marvel movie. Most disappointing part for me was the post credit sequences. The first one was meaningless. For some reason, Knull acts like a grandma who has to narrate the story to us like we're kids (Brahmastra style of feeding story). And then the second post credit scene, I exited the theatre, then remembered DP had two post credit scene, came back and waited for an eternity. Imagine when I saw that predictable 10 second scene.
