Ventilating Hair Video Tutorial: Single Flat Knots and Double Flat Knots on Hair Replacement Systems

Single flat knots and double flat knots are two traditional hair ventilation techniques for human hair wigs which fix the hair to the base by knotting. They both have different characteristics. Single flat knots, for example, are very small. The hair will lie down on the base and its direction can be changed freely. They can be used on lace bases and skin bases. We usually use this method on the back and sides to create a natural flat effect.
Double flat knots, on the other hand, are bigger but at the same time, they are very strong and durable. The hair will also lay flat on the base and its direction can be changed freely. However, you should be aware that double flat knots can only be used on strong base materials or certain materials with large holes like PE line, elastic net or skin with gauze. They will break the bases of more fragile materials like transparent skin and Swiss lace.
In this video, we are going to show you these two ventilation techniques in detail. By the end of the video, you will have a clear understanding of how to make a hair system with single flat knots and double flat knots.

Since the hair has small scales, combing the hair would be kind of problematic 2: how do you create a natural look for the swirl area on a lace piece? 3: What is the life span of a simple flat knot lace unit?

Thank you!🤗🤗 1. Nope, we use the first 4-5" around of the hair strand. For normal hair, we will remove the scales, so it will be smooth and will not tangle; Virgin or Remy hair has scales but they are in one direction so the hair will not tangle when combing it. 2. First, we will put more hair on the crown swirl; then, bleach the knots there to make it look natural. 3. Around 1 month only since it's not strong enough. Normally, for a lace unit, we use single split knots at the front 1/2" and double split knots on the rest. These knots are stronger and can last longer. The life span is about 3 months with light hair color and about 3-6 months with dark hair color. Hope that would be helpful to you.💜

That's a good question.👍 Well, the 4"-5" return hair will be processed by enough acid treatment to remove the hair cuticles, while the other side of the hair will go through slight treatment so the cuticles will remain. One side with cuticles, the other side without. So the hair will not tangle.🙂

If it is a hairpiece with small curls, you need to brush the hair with a wide-tooth comb, then wash it with hair conditioner first and then with shampoo. Next, make sure the hair is fully soaked with hair conditioner otherwise, it will become dry and tangle. Do not use a hairdryer. Put a towel on the hair to absorb excess water and let hair dry naturally. Besides, we sometimes receive the pieces with tangled hair from our customers, and we found that the tangled hair has formed a big knot and there is much hair spray and hair vaseline in it. That is because it was not cleaned well enough. In that case, we pick out the hair one by one and use water containing soda to wash the spray and vaseline off. Then wash the hair with hair conditioner and shampoo. But we will use poly to seal the knots on the base to make sure it will last for some time. 3) Yeah, but that will also depend on how much it is bleached. If bleach too much, it will shed very easily. If bleach nicely, then it will last for longer. 4)Yes! You can easily control the hair direction, and with the standing style on the hairline, it looks very natural and realistic.5)Yes, we can. But not on the front hairline. Instead, we usually use it on the sides and back to get a flat effect just like your own hair.

would like to ask you something , Once I ordered a lace top wig, it has been done from completely virgin children hair. Lace part of the wig completely tangled after my wash , because the returned short part of the hair strands were holding the long part of the hair strands. And until detangling it a lot of hair has been lost un fortunately. How do you solve this tangling issue with the returned hairs? Are there a solution for that?

Hello, thanks for your inquiry!🤗 According to your description, we think that's probably because the return hair has not gone through enough acid treatment. There are still hair cuticles on the returned hair which cause the tangle. For this reason, the wig needs to be processed a little bit more in factory. Besides, some of our customers once used toilet cleaner(acid) to soak the wig and it worked. You could have a try but we are not sure that will also work for you.🙂 Another possible reason is overprocessing. The hair has been damaged and has become extremely dry.
