Thanks so much Dr. Liu, I'm a resident in my ICU rotation and it's been so helpful to have a resource like this to refer to since most of residency has been "trial by fire." Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

CMV is used fairly often in the OR for virtually all surgical cases (at least at my facility) so that the CRNA/Anesthetist has complete control over the patient's breathing; wouldn't want the patient to be bucking the vent while the surgeons are trying to fix whatever it is they're trying to fix.

Hello, What is the difference SMMV and SIMV mode of ventilator ?
@jaystannard4 ай бұрын
Can you say how these compare to Volume targeting Bilevel ventilatory support? The mode found on a Philips Respironics AVAPS or Resmed Airsense 10 ST-A (IVAPS)?

just curious conan, whats your goal after IM? any fellowship? i still remember when i was studying for step 1, your anki tutorial with the intervals literarily made me look like an anki guru at my school, wouldnt be here without you! any chance you would make a video on how to local a lesion in muscle weakness?
@ConanLiuMD2 жыл бұрын
Hoping to do hospital medicine at an academic place :) And glad I could help back with your Anki days! I have been wanting to make a basics to neuro video for a while - so will see when I can do it. It's a pretty involved topic but definitely lots to cover there :)

Is PRVC similar to PAV+ ?
@ConanLiuMD2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I hadn’t heard of PAV+ before actually but on a quick read it definitely sounds quite similar to PRVC!
@vjd68422 ай бұрын
No , PAV does a portion of breath which is going to be set. If you set 30% on the vent the patient will do 70% of WOB.
