A short review of the Ventrac Power Bucket (HE482 part 39.55214) and how useful it is on one specific job.
I purchased the Ventrac Power Bucket attachment late 2022. I ordered it with the side extensions (part 70.8159) that bring it from a 6 cubic foot bucket to a 10.5 cubic foot bucket (made and more suitable for lighter materials, although I load it up with all kinds of stuff) as well as the power bucket teeth kit (part 70.8124).
Both the extension kit and the power bucket teeth are very simple to install and remove, with simple hand tools or power tools to make the job quicker. Both could be installed/removed on a jobsite in the field if needed.
On this job I used the Ventrac to haul debris that included many years worth of pine straw from two large pine trees that had never been raked, the debris from several limbs I cut back from the house, as well as a pile of bricks left over from the construction of the house that the new owners wanted removed to prevent hiding places for snakes/bugs/vermin.
Using the Ventrac power bucket meant I didn't need a wheel barrow which resulted in 1) fewer trips hauling debris as not many wheelbarrows have a 10.5 cubic foot storage capability, 2) less time on the job site since I could carry more per trip and also move it quicker than a wheelbarrow 3) much less fatigue at the end of the job because I wasn't the one moving the materials from the loading/dumping spot.

I appreciate this video, but what tells the real story about Ventrac is how many of them are for sale on FB marketplace. Many owners are quickly disillusioned. The idea that it replaces a tractor is the worst marketing direction they have ever taken. Proprietary & costly attachments is not good. Low lift height is useless for nearly every job outside of the ones shown on video, and all the wetland mowings make no sense to me, since its illegal to mow marshy areas in almost all of the Northeast. I think it's a great mower for tough terrain other than that it's all hype showing minimized jobs that fit the limits of the Ventrac.

I appreciate the feedback! I'll take your word on the FB Marketplace, I've never reached out to folks to see why they are selling theirs, and it sounds like you have. If you need lift height, they have a loader attachment (although I doubt that makes you feel any better due to the 'proprietary and costly attachments' part). Anyone buying the bucket probably doesn't need the lift and understands the applications prior to purchase. The only part I would actively disagree with you is: I highly doubt it is illegal to mow retention ponds, drainage basins, and the like in the Northeast. There ARE marshy areas that need to be maintained, just because you don't see any in your immediate township/corner of the world doesn't mean they don't exist. All that being said, again, thank you for the comment!

@@CopperCreekCuts I've been wondering how much the bucket on the back would mess up slope mowing. I think that it could be an ideal set up to have the bucket on the back for pushing debris and carrying rocks out while brush mowing.

Anyone know weight limit of the power bucket?
@CopperCreekCuts
@CopperCreekCuts Жыл бұрын
That is a great question. I couldn't find it listed anywhere. This is 100% just my opinion and could be entirely wrong, but: The versaloader attachment they have weighs 927 pounds and has a max lift of 500 pounds. This requires another 6 42-pound suitcase weights in the back of the machine, though (or three point hitch) for counter weight. All that to say if the power bucket only weights 200 pounds or so, you probably would tip the machine forward off its back wheels before you would reach the actual lift capacity of the bucket.

Nice, But i mean you could rig up one for cheaper. like an atv with some sort of bigger bucket. of course this is better but i bet it broke the bank account lol especially for a solo guy
@CopperCreekCuts
@CopperCreekCuts Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be able to since I don't have an ATV. I would need to see it to understand, I am not sure where you would mount something this big on an ATV and also make it dump hydraulically. Unless you are just saying that an ATV with a box strapped to it is a step up from a wheelbarrow, which I would agree with.
