64 yr old jaded codger here who is 7 yrs late to the jam but you guys CRUSHED it on these covers! I saw you guys did the last song without tuning your guitars to that whacky E modal drone tuning (eeeebe) that the band used where ya cover the top & bottom strings and easily slide around the neck for half the song! You really needed to be in Los Angeles and Ventura counties in the late 60s and early 70s to fully understand the lyrics to Ventura Highway. There are so many things that happened in the area that are tied into this song. The line about Venice is just one of them. There was a great painting was done on the wall of a building that showed Venice in the snow. Then someone built a building and blocked the view of the painting.

Those “Dututits” ( Ventura Highway) sounded incredible. There’s a flutter and oscillation that I’ve never heard before in any kind of vocalizing . It really is a new never heard before sound. It was like a 3 phase alternating current of harmony.
