My friend is into vintage cards and I love all types of older cars. This was fun to watch. Hugs from katrinka, San Francisco Bay Area

My pops and I go to the Busy Bee every Friday night, but we didn't get down there 'til a little later than this, so I didn't see all these cars cruising....nor did I walk through the static display on Chestnut....but I did see a few and some parked on Main. Some of these cars were at the show, the next day, but I think a lot of them were just taking advantage of the opportunity to cruise, haha! But the show on Saturday was great; a lot of great cars...and DAMN, the live music was good! It was a busy weekend in Ventura...all the events of the Nationals, plus the Aloha Beach Festival...and another edition of the Summer Movie Night series held outside on a section of California St. on this night..........a lot of good times! Thanks for posting!

Where was this at what State? I'm in California bay area. The law made a no cruzing , I remember in the 80's it was Richmond an McDonald avenue and San Jose story road and King. Stockton Charter way or Modesto. San Francisco first it started on Mission street then it moved to Broadway street before the 1989 earthquake. Sacramento old town and by the zoo street. This was after a car shows and entertainment before they commercialised it to the fullest. I remember even going to the Good Guy's car show and just had to pay for parking the entrance was free now it cost almost $30.00 buck's for the parking and going into the show that's not counting gas and food paying for the family and if you are going to enter your car truck it's even more. I've own and built many car's and truck's from the age of 16 to 39 years old I'm 50 now and I have one car left out of many car's I had to liquidate from what I had. Kept my 1947 Chevy coupe stylemaster. I do get the itch to buy another oldie because a lot of people know I collect old stuff of anything and when people need to sale they give me first offer. I only have so much space and money to keep these THING'S that's all of us are care takers of these thing's soon or later we have to pass them on to the next person to enjoy and take care of it to pass on to. That's how I see it I have so many people come over and want something I have I like trading more than selling once it's gone it's gone I may never see or have one again. Can't take it with me when I leave this world I can enjoy it while I'm alive.

Well, a year after my post and six months after your reply, I finally come across it, haha! (I wonder why I never got a notification) This is Ventura CA.....the Friday night cruise sponsored by the car show on the next day. The Saturday car show has been happening for 17 years now and is becoming one of the best shows in So-Cal....Labor Day weekend. I know what you mean about cruising being disallowed. We used to cruise Main Street here in Ventura, back in the day. Over the years it has been on various sections of Main Street, and for it's last several years, well into the '80s, it was done farther East than what you see here in this video. When I used to go in the late '70s/early '80s, I cruised with a friend in his '56 Chevy wagon.......there were a few times when we'd go to a buddy's pad in the West-side hood, fill up with 9 or 10 people in that car and be scraping going in and out of the parking lot turn-arounds for the cruise, haha....good times! Unfortunately, because of a relative few idiots who couldn't handle themselves right, the cops started shutting it down later in the '80s....sad...I miss those days, sometimes. So, in other words, this cruising right here is rare and only because of the car show the following day, so people are taking advantage of being able to cruise without being looked at funny by cops or business owners.

I remember seeing a lot of those car's on the road in the 70s and 80's some I didn't care for but seeing them on the road in 2019 I can appreciate them now even the 4 doors and wagons only because there not many left anymore. We are only the care takers then we past them on to the next person to appreciate it as much as us.

The Blue 1947 Chevy coupe stylemaster is what car I own but everything has been conversion diffrent engine disc brakes 12volt conversation 5on5 lugs to make it more up to date for long trips but it still looks like original on the outside of the classic car it's not a hot rod or low rider style. It can be in a movie seen because the paint looks old to but not peeling it looks like a car that could be in the back ground. My friend has a 1963 Chevy wagon he was paid for a photo shoot these people made this family look like the 1960's picture and they used his wagon for the picture he had to drive to San Francisco.

I don't like the fire truck horn every time I hear it coming from an old car it iratates me. Unless it's coming from a fire truck.

Fire trucks are annoying as well, same with cop sirens
