Did you feel safe leaving the resort?? We are heading there in a few weeks and We want to check out the town but have never been to Mexico and are a little nervous about safety. Thanks

Yes, the first year was a little scary back in 2012 but the town has really turned around, a lot of ex-pats currently live in Puerto Morelos. My dad and I would leave the resort all the time and have never had an issue with safety. I will say we were scammed once in Cancun by a crooked cop around 2015. Just be sure you’re following all the laws and not looking for any trouble.

We will be visiting Marina El Cid in November. Thanks for your videos, because this gives us a great insight to the place. My question is, did you walk from the hotel to puerto morelos or take a taxi? If you took a taxi anywhere, what was the cost like? Thanks for the info!

We hope you have a wonderful time, we split a taxi with another couple. It was $25 round trip for the 4 of us.
