thank you! I can't wait to see if they work. I googled aonium and echeveria, and echeveria black prince X shaveriana looked pretty close, but it was a top view and i think it was flat against the ground. any ideas? and i have a cereus peruvianus monstrose mini cactus. and i don't know how to propigate it. do you? thanks

can i use distilled drinking water
@OutdoorsAndBotanical7 жыл бұрын
david caliboso most distilled water is the same, however some drinking water they add minerals for flavour. So check the label and make sure it says 0 ppm and 0 fluoride. And purified with reverse osmosis. And you should be good.

do you know where i can get drosera minata seeds??
@OutdoorsAndBotanical8 жыл бұрын
Minata? or binata? drosera seeds you can come by on ebay, but make sure it's about 3.00$ for 10 seeds and you won't get scammed. are you in the USA? if so you can find all kinds of plants and seed selling buisseness. hope this helps.

first! and I like how you take cuttings of you're plants very often. BTW do you still have brugmansia?
@OutdoorsAndBotanical8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I have lots! and the reason I propigate is because I want to be able to sell. when I get older and can own my own business I want to have a good selection of exotic and tropical plants. it's all about the future for me lol thanks for your comment. I like your support.

Found a video that says to use rooting hormone on carnivorous plants for better results. He had a lot of success this way.

Ive never tried, but i heard it can also be a risk because it can burn the plants. Its worth a try though.

@@OutdoorsAndBotanical well they're dead traps you'd throw away anyway. One said use rooting hormone, another said just stick it in the soil. I'll try both ways and see which works best.

Experimenting is the best way to learn. Typically you wouldnt want to use dead traps though... the healthier the leaves are the better chances of success. At least with my experience. Let me know how the rooting hormone does. Im curious to see if it helps :) happy growing

@@OutdoorsAndBotanical Check this out about tissue culturing carnivorous plants. It isn't 100%, but only using dead leaves, who cares? I think pulling the leaf out close to the Rhzomes gets the tissue most likely to regenerate, as opposed to cutting leaves in segments, that only gets 10% success. I will use the Hawaiian girl's idea with rooting hormones, maybe I will get better results. I love experimenting, especially if it means free plants. Dead leaves are more available than taking good leaves on a plant you're trying to grow bigger. I will use the dead leaves until I start doing divisions. @@OutdoorsAndBotanical we had a discussion on whether it could be to hot for Venus Fly Trap dormancy. Just found we have wild Venus Fly Traps growing in Florida, about 50 miles West of me. floraofohio.blogspot.com/2014/07/botanizing-florida-panhandle-venus-fly.html?m=1
