Gah! I just bought 5 fly traps. They're my babies. It makes me flinch every time you drop them on the table. I know they're fine, but to me, they're still delicate little babies! Haha!

When i split and repot mine, they get shocked and their growth slows or stops for the year, and there's a chap who just drops them on the table, crazy!

I was asking my wife to be gentler with the plants while she was helping me with the black traps.. I'm getting conflicting information on how to deal with black traps and whether or not to clip them off? what do you do with the black traps that look to be dying?

What kind of sand??

@@oneeyedjack8806 Silica sand/quartz sand, aka pool filter sand.

Would aquarium rocks/pebbles work for the bottom of the pot? Small type aquarium sand?

@@housecreeper I don't use any stones under the soil. Just carnivorous plant mix all the way through so it can effectively wick water :)
