He is talking about venus and mars conjunction in the 8th house of the birth chart. You can also take it as 8th house from the moon chart, but as a beginner it may confuse you. So my advice is to not complicate things and just simply see it as a conjunction happening in the 8th house of the birth chart, that is the d1 chart.
