I followed your podcast months ago and found your KZbin videos under another channel. Looked at the name and said ‘I know I’ve seen this name before’ and all along I’d been listening but it never clicked for me that it was the same person. Watched your Chiron video and I was floored at how you broke it down. I also have Venus /Saturn in a trine and it can be challenging. Ahhh needed this. Saturn squares my Libra Moon and Venus, currently going through my first return, and finally feeling some lessons and intense shadow work start to click. Kept trying to become more Saturnian, serious, rigid with time/organization and, well, my Sag Sun, Asc, Mars (which is another aspect to Saturn lol), and Mercury were very not cool with that 😂 listening to your podcast/lectures the last couple of days and really reflecting on not only Saturn but how my placements in general relate to/interact with each other has helped me realize that Saturn wasn't asking for that or trying to get me to change in that way. It also took me finally leaning into seriously studying astrology in general for me to unsurprisingly stumble on a bunch of these aha moments. Anyway, I started typing with the intention of just saying how much I appreciate you but seems that triggered a bit of an epiphany, hence the mini essay 😆 as I said, I'm finally studying consistently and in earnest and I am so grateful to have randomly found your work while I was searching YT for a lecture Richard Tarnas gave. I’m just into Astrology and I’m fascinated by Saturn as well as by Pluto and they look to have quite similar traits, at least when I think of purification of the soul? Or how do you experience these both planetary energies and do they have naturally a strong bond within someone’s chart? I’m curious about your view on this:) Take care!

Welcome to astrology! Yes, Saturn and Pluto have some overlap. In their connection to death, dying, endings, letting go. While also being unique in their expression - Pluto going into rebirth, resurrection, renewal, and it’s connection to nature, biology, animals, and our sexuality. Yes, some charts have a strong Saturn or Pluto, depending on placement.

Hi Jessica, Wow, this is simply amazing. I have been trying to interpret Saturn & Venus Conjunction at 1 degree Aries in the 12th house. Swimming in circles of course. Any advice?

Hi Lola! I don't think I have any advice. What comes to mind is taking what you know about VE-SA and what this video brought up for you and combining it with that Aries 1st degree energy. Something like...this life can be about finding new beginnings for you around love, relationship, boundaries, and work. It's a new process!

I'd recommend that u see an astrologer in the next year, -if you can afford to do so. During the peak of your saturn return in early 2025, transiting saturn and transit Neptune will be conjunct your natal Saturn/Venus at exactly 1 degree Aries. Jessica seems very knowledgeable, but u can also just seek out/ ask for referrals in the area u live in and see if one astrologer resonates with you. Best wishes.

Hi Carol, thanks for your question. I think that SA-VE lessons by their very nature take time. Saturn gives its gifts with time, age, experience, and wisdom. A movement from fear into authority - over and over and over again. I think of the aspects as a spiralic journey. We are each coming in and out of their center of meaning and purpose in our lives. I do not personally work with falls and detriments and exhalations. I have yet to be shown that they work in the ways people are holding their understanding right now.

what if saturn is retrograde

I think it is helpful to bring a bit of astronomy here when thinking about retrogrades. Saturn is retrograde about 40% of each year, that's almost half. When SA is Rx in a natal chart it can have a level of taking more time to be with that energy. However, I am a firm believer that every single planet and aspect, sign, house and retrogradation always has it's unique gifts and challenges.
