Asif Sheikh’s story is a classic story of how one should never give up on trying…he was there in Hum Log…India’s first drama serial way back in 1984….he was there in this super hit song from 1991 and he was there in 90’s in some of the superhit movies like Pyaar Kiya toh Darna kya and hit serials like Yes Boss….but nobody really knew his name or who he was…..and ultimately he tasted success and recognition as “Vibhuti Narayan Mishra” in Bhabhi Ji when he was in his 50’s. This song... throws me back in 90's when we'd live in a rented house. My mom would put on radio, picking some vegetables, running errands and I would think of opening the door to go out and play. But, I'd wait for my father to come and play cricket with me. He'd be dressed in loose pants, checkered shirt and white, chunky sports shoes. And we'd play cricket till Fauji Bhaiyo Ki Pasannd would start. This means, its dinner time. What a time...simple life! Dad is now in his cellphone. Mom speaks to me on a video call... and I own an apartment in a metro, have a family house, and rented another house. Everything changed, but memories of this song --- it will live forever and keep me grounded! Keeps my inner child alive.
