@@SirNotAppearing very sorry to hear that. Indeed some plugins had suboptimal performance issues in the past but we are constantly working to improve the framework. He was saying how random it can be, it looks fun but I really need to be able to recall patches and have the effect same the sound way when I open the project again, based on the selected parameters and into future sessions... or would I need to bounce the audio every time just due to the fact if I catch some randomness magic it may not happen again (in precisely the same way)?

Thanks for this. I was aware of Emergence and Pianoverb. But I live Fogpad, Driftmaker and Expanse. My other favourite's recently have been from Freakshow Industries. Mishby is my favourite. It's indescribably strange. The interface is a work of art. I think you'll like it. Audiomodern have some greate free plugins too. Filterstep is a 'motion filter' that's quite creative. Gatelab brings some creative modular-like gate sequencing into the DAW too. Audiothing filterjam is a multiband resonant filter, a few years old now, but I still like it.

You’re absolutely right! This is the best 😁 There are so many plugins and VSTs out there, but who needs another reverb, compressor or saturation knob. It’s the chaotic and different plugins that get my attention and evidence of a truly creative developer. In fact, I think all the major vendors have similar high quality traditional effects that come with your DAW or bundle. They’ve nailed it. Now if you want a different sound, you need to venture into the unusual. Well done!

I would try heavily distorting a snare drum sample and applying a sweeping pitch filter on the attack. The distortion might add some tone, so try to EQ out the resonant tonal frequencies. Then I would add a subtle gated reverb effect. That should do the trick. EDIT: After trying this method myself, it works wonder, but I'd recommend that you need to automate an EQ on the high end. It will sound tin-y and fake without automation. You know what a gunshot sounds like so edit until you get as close as you can. Alternatively. Just use an audio-clip of someone shooting a gun and layer it under your fake sound to create your own, but with the meat of a real shot XD

Do I have to use a real keyboard to get effected sounds or is it enough to have a midi keyboard synched with my daw? Actually it would be better if you talk about how we can use them with our daws. I really love how Emergence sounds in the video, but honestly I am somehow to stupid to make it sound kool on my end. Are there any presets out there somewhere for it or is anybody up for doing some? Just to have the basic parameters set and not get me totally lost 🙂

It's weird when certain plug-ins won't work on certain systems, or OS versions, but work fine on others. I can't get any of the Exponential Audio FX to work on my system, even though it's from Izotope, but all the other Izotope plug-ins work great. Maybe I offended the AUVSTAAX Gods somehow...

Just wanted to throw my experience in here too. I have probably more than half of Puremagnetik's plugins, free and paid - have been collecting them for over a year now - and I've never had a problem getting them to work in Ableton Live 10 Suite. Aside from getting the Github projects, exporting from Cabbage, and not keeping the CSD file and "includes" images folder with the .dll or .vst3 file, which was my own fault. By the way, yes, you can get any of the newest Lore series plugins for free from their Github too! You just need to download Cabbage (an IDE for programming audio software), import the project file of whatever plugin you want, then export it in the format you want. You'll have to be sure whether it's an instrument or effect plugin before doing so, or you could break the plugin that way too.

Wow for the first time ever I've watched a video claiming 'great free plugins' and actually found all of them useful and therefore downloaded each of them. Great stuff thanks so much.

It's great to see Puremagnetik getting some attention! I don't know how well known they are, but their plugins are really unique and versatile for the money.

Thanks as I love weird sounds, so synths and fx, rather than normal instruments.

Yo! In order to use them, you would need either a DAW (Ableton, FL Studio, Bitwig, Cubase, etc) or a plugin host (Savihost, etc). They typically do not run as standalone programs.

Not hugely keen on Driftmaker from your demo; seems to have some nasty offset issues - perhaps "Blend" smooths this out? Chow Matrix, on the other hand, is really interesting. It reminds me of those old ixi sound experiments from a few years back.
