Thanks for the suggestion! I own three Tom Bihn pieces and appreciate the brand and quality. Alas, their backpacks are not for me because there are no external side water bottle pockets. There is a waterproof pocket meant for a water bottle right smack in the middle of the bag, which is a no-go for me. I just had laptop ruined by water damage. No way am I putting a water bottle anywhere near the center of my bag. Yikes!

I purchased tote bags for college in the mid 2000s and then forgot all about the brand. I was searching for a bag and one of their new leather bags popped up on Google. That’s what brought me back to the brand and caught my attention. I think they’ve done a good job with the leather bags offering a good quality leather pieces at an affordable price. It does seem like a good bit of the die hard fans of the brand are upset with the change.

A backpack that would check all your boxes may be the Brevite 'Jumper' backpack. It had the suitcase pass through, an external water bottle pocket and the padded/elevated laptop pocket. Basically it's padded at the bottom of the laptop area so it doesn't hit the bottom of the bag. Also bonus feature is the zipper for the laptop pocket is water sealed. It can double as a camera bag so there is a middle divider, but you can fold that down so it just functions as a normal backpack. I think the bag is around $169 and comes in super nice colors! I super want one, but as a backpack junkie, I don't need another backpack! 😅

Ooooh interesting! I’ve never heard of this brand or style, but just took a look. I kinda wish the water bottle pockets were more spacious, but it looks like a good pack!

I’m kind of annoyed that they completely got rid of their old line. There’s actually a few things they had in their previous collection that I actually am finding kind of cute but now I can’t find them anymore

Ughh… that IS annoying! They def should have phased out rather than completely overhauled. Keep an eye out at the VB outlets and eBay/Poshmark. You never know - the things you like might just pop up!

@@WalletLife Update: I actually really lucked out! Turns out they still have some of last seasons' collection on their Amazon site (not on their normal webpage) and while the hydrangea pink xl campus backpack was unavailable for a while, I happened to look at the page again today and there was 1 in stock. I snatched it up right away! It was a little pricey ngl but I think it should be worth it- I really need a high quality backpack with the amount of stuff I carry. It should hopefully arrive before next semester starts in September and I can't wait :)
