Vera Brittain learned through hard experience that the nonviolence coupled with compassion for the very poor and despised which was taught by Jesus was the effective way to live. Einstein, Gandhi and Martin Luther King also came to this conclusion.

Thanks trawled through some Elgar after your suggestion and hurray I found it it's the serenade for strings in E minor. It's been in my head for weeks now as it's used quite a lot and I just couldn't identify it . I am very happy !!
