Let me tell you…I’m an open heart and vascular operating room nurse and the amount of people in denial of their terrible lifestyle and eating habits is ridiculous. If you’re buying processed foods and not exercising (like actually exercising….some people say “yeah, I walked to the bathroom so I exercised”…no joke) something is going to get you. They think we are shaming them when we say you need to lose weight and change your diet and lifestyle or you’re going to end up with your chest open and heart out on our operating room table. So many leave upset and come back when the heart attack begins. Some still don’t change their ways. It’s frustrating to be in healthcare to help people and feel like you’re talking to a wall.

I feel everything you're saying because I'm one of those ppl who the doctor told me 10 years ago if you don't lose weight you're gonna die! Here I am 100 pounds heavier with CHF, on oxygen 24/7 afraid for my life. I just had my first grandbaby born and she looks just like me! I gotta do what I can to get some extra time. If anyone sees this I'm 43, get it together, lose that weight, make healthier life choices.

Accountability is great. Especially if someone states an intention to change something. Nothin wrong with holding people to what they say they wanna do. The shaming is when you advocate for people to fight their genetics just to look a certain way. And we generally do that to bigger people the most. Many people eat regular (meaning not overly indulgent), are moderately active, and are still gonna be fat. We don’t need to be telling those people that they should only have a celery stick and a gallon of water a day because that’s what it will take for them to stop being fat. If you personally wanna fight your genetics and do extra stuff to look a certain way, then that’s cool…but don’t be tellin other people that they should want to do the same, man “lookout” lol.

You're right, that's something we rock with as we move into neighborhoods and wonder if we're accepted. One thing about token is that although you don't want to be a token, there is always one who was the first. I appreciate those people and families. I've had the same thoughts and experiences when I moved into my house in 1997 in Brown Deer WI. Although we're still a pretty diverse community a whole lot of white folks have moved out and the school district now is about 80 percent black but when I moved here in 1997 it was about 85 percent white. Lots of whites still live in the community but send their kids to schools (other districts or private schools) outside of the district. That's unfortunate.

Tony Tony Tony Weight loss is about caloric deficit. It's a matter of spending more calories than you put in. America started as an outdoors hands on country. Your diet was built that way. Look up the famous, "full English breakfast", and then look up, "a ploughman's lunch". Both those meals were intended for farmhands. But somehow, they became status symbol. In your case, your diet a regimen have you a a plateau. You have balanced out what you eat with your workout. Some people burn fat faster and others slowly due to different metabolisms. Most diets are merely slow starving yourselves. And starving yourself causes atrophication. It causes reduced mental faculties. My preferred diet was coined by the same brits. They say, breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and sup like a pauper. At the same time, you have to replace the farm work you no longer do.

Kevin Hart was in 40 year old Virgin... Funny as heck
@hellarandom002 ай бұрын
It’s not just about Kevin Hart not being funny. He is propped up and force-fed to the masses while ALSO not being funny. Eddie Murphy was actually an incredible talent and standup comedian. No comparison. Kevin represents how mid people are given opportunities when extremely talented people (like Tony) are not.

overall to lose weight you need to eat less than you burn on average a day. if u are predisposed for diabetes or high blood pressure or high cholesterol, yes you have to track sugar, or track salt intake, or cholesterol intake. but the most important thing is calories. but that don’t mean you shouldn’t eat fruit and veggies just bc a big mac fit in your calories!

I'm just going to say I wasn't a Kendrick fan before. I just wasn't overly familiar with him. I probably could name more Drake songs (not many and songs I randomly heard) than Kendrick's. I get your point. It's still hard to hear you go to bat for Drake in the name of popularity or numbers. The social and ethical issues around Drake are serious. Before the whole "beef" people were noticing the behavior. The most serious being the grooming of young girls. Toeing the line (at least in public). Objectively, that's how the R. Kelly's and Diddy's of the world are allowed to escalate. Being giving passes because of fame, popularity, power, and money. Beyond the beef, maybe Kendrick sounding the alarm will cause a young girl or two to think twice. Bias definitely plays a part in how people filter situations, but I consider the "beef" more of a PSA for young people to beware of predators. Even the talented, famous, and rich ones.

I always felt unwelcome (being the only black family in the area, up until recent) and still do. I yearn for the embrace of community. Also when I was around 8 or 10 years old, my older brother's white friend, said the k word and that always stuck with me, like why say that and worse yet, in a black person's home?
