I used to listen to these songs as a young man. The one that blew me away at that time was "Anna". Mario Matadidi Mabele Bwana Kitoko, Djeskain and Sakoul Loko Masengo soon after recording these songs, left Vercky's Band Orchestra Veve and formed Orchestra Sosoliso. They redid Cheri Anna and named the song SEX MADJESI in 1973. The songs in this album are timid compared to what they did with Sosoliso. Maybe the reason they left Verckys. They become the talk of Kinshasa and Zaire as the DRC was known at the time. Verckys became so mad with jealousy that he used his friend Franco who was friends with the then president Mobutu to have Mario Matadidi (who was from Angola) and Loko Masengo (who was from the Congo Republic) deported thus breaking up Sosoliso. Nothing was heard from them after that, but I have seen video clips of recent interviews and shows of the three of them as old men. I don't understand French or Lingala but how glad I was to see that they outlived all those jealous adversaries. Bless you all.

Verckys' wind instrument teams (sax and trumpets) can never be ignored, the way they fit in the very enterprising band components is a result of well thought composition.
