Hello everyone,
I‘ve been meaning to get into electronic music for a very long time, and in the past couple of months I started to actually experiment with it. Here‘s my first track, "Enchanted Dystopia“. Took me over a month to make it because I had to learn a lot of basic stuff. This track doesn‘t have a beat yet but that‘s gonna happen in the next ones.
While I will keep making piano videos, I want to make more of these for a while so that I can learn some more basics. As far as VGM and piano is concerned, I‘m really enjoying the soundtrack of Sekiro. It has a couple of really interesting pieces that I would like to arrange, but that‘s gonna take some time. It‘s also quite different from earlier SoulsBorne music so it‘s challenging to arrange.
I have been enjoying Sekiro a lot and would like to get back into streaming with it as well. I haven‘t been streaming much ever since my mistakes of 2016 but I think I‘m slowly getting more interested in getting back into it because I have a couple of ideas for that game. I‘ll let you know more as soon as I feel comfortable with it.
Thanks for watching, and talk to you soon.

I like it. It's not too repetitive and you seem to be actually trying to tell a story with the music, which is something missing from a lot of music without lyrics today. The feel of it brings to mind Einhander, an old side-scrolling, semi-bullet-hell shooter on Playstation made around the same time that FF7 was. Well done, lad. I can imagine the pewpew sound effects and ships exploding right along with it.

That's great to hear, thank you. I was wondering if people would think this is too repetitive, so it's nice to get this feedback. I actually played Einhänder in the 90s, love the music. Way ahead of its time (and still is, IMHO).

Man I really like this- I think it seems very unique void of the usual electronic beats. I would like to see where you would go if you continue this path: focusing on the melody/development. Very nice here indeed...

Thank you very much. I must admit I really like music that has beats, in fact my second track will have beats in it as well. With that said, music without beats can also be really interesting. Electronic music has so many shades that one can explore, it's fascinating. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment.

Very cool. Would fit right in the bgm of old sci fi classics like Shadowrun or even in the dystopian future segments of games like Chrono Trigger or Sonic CD. Awesome stuff, keep it coming 👍

Awesome compliment, thank you. As I said to another commenter, I didn't even approach this from a VGM perspective so it's cool to hear people make that connection.

this is SUPER cool omg. I really dig all the layers, from which I can hear elements of your complex contrapuntal style in your piano arrangements and melodic development to boot.

Thank you very much Schala. This first project was hard to do because I was struggling with the technical side of things all the time, it's unusual to work with a DAW when you're used to mostly making music with a single instrument. I'm curious what else I can come up with as soon as I get a bit more warm with the software side of things. Appreciate that you took the time watch it and comment, cheers.

Don't know if you've played or heard of Deus Ex, but I feel like it would fit right in, especially starting around 2:40 Looking forward to hearing what else your creativity brings us! :)

Thank you very much, it's great to hear you like it! Yes, I know Deus Ex, loved it very much and I still listen to its soundtrack quite often. Same with Unreal/Tournament. I can definitely see why you would say that, because Deus Ex has exactly the kind of feel to it that this music is trying to convey. Thanks!

Definitely getting Untamed Heart vibes from Klonoa Door to Phantomile.

Thank you. I checked out the track. Klonoa was a game I've always wanted to play, actually bought it on a sale in the late 90s, but never got around to checking it out more. Have wanted to have a look at it for a long time, it supposedly has solid gameplay and also nice music.

@@Verdegrand It layers it's mechanics in very intuitively and has a nice difficulty curve, never feeling stagnantly easy nor unfair when things ramp up. Highly recommend, soundtrack is really nice besides, and it has a surprisingly gripping story climax.

Very John Carpenter/Alan Howarth but with more melodies. Very beautiful. I want this in a movie

Whoa, thank you. I actually love John Carpenter's music, was very inspired by his soundtracks in the 90s, so it's cool to have you say that.

Don't know Cosmic Star Heroine, looked it up, seems like a nice game. I said this to a few other commenters, it's nice to get comments that aim towards the VGM angle, because I didn't have that in mind while making this. So interesting to see several people say this. I'll think about it. Already started working on the second track, although that one is gonna be very different. Thank you for watching, have a good weekend.

Thank you very much. I honestly can't give some explicit description of what I did. I started out with an idea, and then one thing lead to the next. Spent most of the time looking up basic stuff about the editing and so on.
