On the getting land aspect. I lease land in exchange for growing food for the owners of the land. This was facilitated by Young Agrarians which is a Canadian non-profit. They are super helpful and made me a great legal agreement. I think this is the best option for people with no money.

Have not watched the whole thing yet, but more detailed advice on the "figuring it out/contracts between co-owners" would be a HUGELY helpful topic. Most going in would not know what to even expect and therefore not be able to make effective 'contracts' that will avoid later conflict.

USA/CA and the western world as a whole has a very skewed perspective on what is "limited means"... Go to Portugal, not along the coast. Or come to Eastern Europe. Get ready for an update on all of your terminology :D Small scale and 0 budget, let's go!

9:55.... breed meat rabbits.... minimum you reduce your grocery bill.... if done correctly you can profit in the process. I will start here myself when I have space to do so... Im in apparent currently and can not do this at all because management has inspections regularly and filter changes.... I need a partner to buy cheap high desert land degraded so I can raise them there and restore the land with the rabbits excrement.

I grow citrus in a geo thermal yard greenhouse and when I am in it I could be anywhere. I rent but need a car alarm in the greenhouse LOL! Eastvan.

I would like to know what towns have houses for $50K in Alberta? Ghost town maybe like Rumsey or Etzikom ... there's a reason why they're ghost towns. I'm from southern AB and much prefer the mountains ... I pretty much went over the mountains from the east side of the Rockies to the west side. It's warmer on this side and way less wind -- of course the heart of chinook country is notorious for gall force winds ... I don't miss that at all. Thanks for the video although it sounds pessimistic overall

This is really disappointing. The title is "Entering the Permaculture Life With Limited Means," and the one section of the video which supposedly directly addresses that and starts at 9:01 with a section title of "Advice for people who want to start with limited means," begins with the interviewee stating that he's "not qualified" to answer this question and that he'd "love to work" in this context but doesn't. If this video were a longwinded joke, it would be the kind where a wise-guy former boss of mine would say after the disappointing punchline "Well. That was a long way for nothing."
