It would be interesting to see for sure. DMC5/Post-Qliphoth Vergil is vastly stronger than his DMC3/DMC4 selves, but last I heard, Sephiroth is also stronger in the FF7 Remake.

Right now as of remake, Sephiroth has timeline manipulation (He mixed events of ff7og and ff7r together which is different timelines), space time manipulation (at the end of ff7r he transported cloud to the edge of creation saying "7seconds still the end" which indicates that Sephiroth stopped space and time seven seconds before the earth goes kaboom, this fact is also supported by tomura in ff7r Ultimania book), plot manipulation (even in ff7og Sephiroth manipulated cloud to giving him the black materia which is him controlling the narration and plot of the game), reality manipulation level3/tier 3 (via the edge of creation which we've never seen in ff7og), fate manipulation (literally gave cloud visions of the future and past and made him defeat fate, which I remind you, he controls the whispers who are agents of fate), psychological manipulation (manipulated cloud of course, even made him brain-dead for a month in ff7og which is why he's in wheelchair). So Sephiroth's hax is already more insane than Vergil's, Vergil only has MFTL+ speed, time stop via judgement cut end and space time manipulation via opening portals and sealing the fabric of reality with yamato, Sephiroth can also open portals (during the highway scene at the end and as well as open portals to different dimensions (which is obviously shown in the final fight of ff7r) so it evens up SLIGHTLY though. Combat wise, Vergil is stronger, faster and more durable, but regeneration goes to Sephiroth via Sephiroth clones, and phoenix down. So Sephiroth still loses but Vergil Extreme diffs FF7R Sephiroth.

The way I see it, the updated battle should be DMC 5 Vergil vs Remake Sephiroth. Both swordsmen have been enhanced and not to mention, both became more powerful than they originally were. That would've been a match of the century.

Yeah, they were just appeasing to the bigger fan base without considering how these two characters actually worked. Sephiroth was overbuffed and gave him super nova when he's not even in his final boss form. Vergil was heavily nerfed and wasn't given everything that he had.

@@PsychoKupo I think them not using Safer Sephiroth’s model and still had him use Supernova was either just budget/time constraints OR using Advent Children Sephiroth, which I think the researchers agree on being > FF7 Sephiroth. Meanwhile the episode was made pre-DMC 5 so I think it was accurate at the time. Of course both characters had WAY better feats (Like for some reason they say Sephiroth doesn’t scale to Supernova yet the FF7 party can tank it or how pre-DMC 5 Vergil should be >>> Nero who fought the bare minimum island-level Sanctus Diabolica) and they probably will use the higher end scaling for DMC if they plan on doing Dante vs Kratos, but otherwise I think the result was right.

The thing about Super Nova is the japanese version of the animation is the canon animation. The exploding sun is cool and all but he can use it multiple times and it doesn't one shot the party and when he uses it again the planets are all back so while Sephiroth could still win I think the issue is they used math from a non-canon version of the move.

This is top notch music production for a "Death Battle" episode this old. I am astounded, seriously, because I remember this "Screw Attack" episode coming out the day it aired, and loved every bit of the fight, and definitely agreed with the outcome at the time. Vergil has Yamato, a sword that doesnt give a fuck about durability, Mirage Edge which is a phantom version of Force Edge, summoned swords which Vergil can use as defense and offence, the Beowulf devil arm which if i remember correctly has the power of a small super nova, has Sin Devil which is an upgrade to his original Devil trigger that makes him indestructable, and when he became Urizen he already had the strength to shake the entire universe. After V fused with Urizen he got even stronger and faster. Seph aint gonna do shit to Vergil.

@@KV_1615 I didn't make this video to debate with people about which fictional character should've won a fight, but I will say this; That is not a valid reason for any character to win a fight. You gotta think about who the characters are, what are their skills, abilities, strength, powers, weapons, armor, personality, their history, pretty much everything about them. You have think these fights logically and not be completely biased. Sephiroth coming out first doesn't mean anything. Make comparisons all you like, but Vergil is his own character and he's cool for his own reasons.

this fight is so dumb, vergil should win effortlessly 1-yamato.... you can argue what ever but that sword gives Vergil the fight every day of the week, why : it was created for his father in honor of the aspect of death itself able to literally bend the SPACE not the dark vaccum outside of the planet , the god damm law of ANY universe. It separeted even 2 plains of existance it the god damm first place... so it doesnt matter what character is or what deity is suppose to be nothing can stand a blade that bends reality at its will. Emphasis on "WILL" beacuse low key the blades of sparda family in DMC have consciousness... you can see it multiple times : > force edge not giving full strenght to neither Vergil or Arkham in dmc 3 > Dante calling rebellion in the anime with its hand > yamato itself going to Vergils hand´s in visions of V > yamato healing itself with nero´s influence aka the son of his wielder > yamato , devil sword dante, force edge-sparda and rebellion desapear if the wielder whishes so So even if sephiroth gets its hands to yamato it won´t do more than being a very sharp katana just like his... thats why in dmc 3 Vergil din´t cut thorugh Kalina Ann (lady rocket luncher) beacuse simply vergil dint command the blade to do so. 2-his regeneration is almost stupid when you can survive the hell fire, black holes and the vacumm of space like its nothing .... a supernova is nothing. 3- think is Vergil never lost a fair fight against anything that isnt Dante beacuse they have the exact same abilities , that is why vergil ONLY gets tired after fighting Dante and viceversa , heck even the devs confirmed in DMC 5 that; Vergil just lost to mundus beacuse he was in recovery after fighting Dante. 4-now they use DT as way to intend "serious" fight but if Vergil considers necessesary using his DT against sephiroth he inst like Dante who likes to play around vergil will not fight full strenght unless he requires so. But he will still go in with intentions to kill him and DT is a stupid power up its not like SSJ or things like that the difference betweeb the sons of sparda in DT and human form is absurd, not even powerful deamons can stand their ground against them heck even Dante became a beast in human form just by getting access to it; Think Vergil and Dante in human form have strenght to stop a coluss of 300+ tons THEY can stop it effortless , have speeds that blur the human eye by default, heck even Vergil cut some ones hand with out him even notising it with out using darkslayer or any or that stuff just a swing from his sheated blade and sheath again before he could even see anything.... Now in DT while in game is just regular power up I think the closest thing we can get to they´re standar speed is rapid slash , million stab, yamato combo C. and stinger ... again in gameplay we are suppose to see what they are doing but i think that is the standar speed of them in DT.... they real speed is only percetive in DMC 5 when dante executes JUDGMENT you can see the entire world almost frozen in place that is what sephiroth is up against as much of a deity sephiroth can become... is nothing compared to some one who´s real form is powerful enough to summon black holes of his demonic strenght, move at zero speed, cut SPACE itslelf, and heal anything you thorw at him... and vergil has no intention of playing if he is going in to fight he will cut you down before you even draw your blade...
