Here's a thing I'll say as a person thats coached some high level teams, both professionally and personally, accepting feedback, for many people is a really tough skill to develop. For many people getting feedback on areas where they get to improve is really difficult to manage, because they see any perceived error on their part being called out as basically a personal attack. They think that people calmly discussing areas they could improve, is somehow them saying "you're a bad person"....Thats why Hal isn't accepting the criticism, he's just letting insecurity about his own self image poison the actual positive things Verhulst is trying to say, this in turn sets off Verhulst, because he's putting himself out there and basically getting slapped down I guess what I'm saying is this: 1. Giving feedback is uncomfortable, you don't want to hurt anyones feelings, particularly your teammates and friends, so do it with empathy and positivity always. Recognise your own imperfections and always reinforce that you're coming from a place of trying to aid development, not trying to belittle anyone. 2. Getting feedback is always really tough, but you need to understand that people are trying to help you by giving this information. What's more, they're trusting you as a person enough that you're not going to throw it back in their face and that the camaraderie you have will be deepened through whats basically a trust sharing exercise. Anyway, just my two cents

There's nothing wrong with being mad and venting, but how you do it is essential. Being on the receiving end of the venting would get annoying. I think Evan wants Hal to vent more positively or skip the venting phase and watch the vod and criticize the events that happened. From first-hand experience, it's too easy to vent to your teammates when you're mad, but this behavior doesn't typically promote a constructive and positive environment. Most people improve faster in a positive environment(there are studies on this).
@yuuki33439 ай бұрын
Agreed. Venting up also helps relieves tension, since it can let off some steam from high paced situations and also can open up discussions. But recommending this to only take a minute or two. Blame who you want to blame, argue who you want to argue, but it's better to choose the words that ain't too personal. Evan and jordan can do this too. Blame hal for his shtty plays, blame jordan and evan for their shtty plays. We already know tsm is like this, so let them vent and rage as much as they want to within 2-3 mins. Then take another minute for a breather to think, then discuss calmly what has to be discussed. This is how important raven's role comes into play. The most important here is how they will handle the situation after venting.

Hal SHOULDVE said he had 2 on him, Hal SHOULDVE made sure he wasn’t solo pushing, maybe he SHOULDVE played with the team.

I’m ngl people like Hal do need to be put in their place. Cuz this kinda of situation does affect others especially when it is a reoccurring thing.

Previously Evan spoke back to Hal as well and Hal actually apologized for it
@jaredm.59659 ай бұрын
@@michael08269 yeah. It’s nice to see he’s willing to speak up but also that Hal is more willing to say when he was wrong. Was good of raven and reps also for tryin to help defuse the situation.
