Thank you for the clear and concise instruction. I agree the instructions are quite verbose.

Chains, in general, should have some slack in it. It will turn both sprockets consistently even with slack and it will allow the bearings in the chain to roll uninhibited by any unnecessary pressure. You will get weird wear patterns if a chain is too tight and you will have difficulty turning the vice.

Would you say this is already too tight in the video?

There is a way out of first annoyance: two extra nuts placed just in front an a bit ahead of standard nuts will provide for extra support for axles, preventing them from leaning down when front jaw is fully open

👍🐯👍. Good job on the installation. Can you do a review of the record jack plane you have? I'm interested in one and wish to know how much work goes into getting it ready to work properly.

I got it ages ago. Apart from sharpening the blade, I don't think there's a great deal needed to be done. The sole is flat and the depth adjusting wheel is smooth as well.

just found your channel today, good stuff. I look forward to seeing more. How are you finding the cork on both jaws of the vice? I found it would tend to be a bit squishy and some things would slip in the vice, after removing one side of cork this solved the issue for me. Keep on Keeping on man 👍😁👌 New sub here

Thanks. They do compress a bit but also provide more grip than the bare plywood I think.

Sorry, not sure if I missed this information in your video, but, how long are those screws? Considering buying this vise, but not sure how long of an overhang I need to have for the screws under the table top. Thanks!

Hi I can't remember on top of my head. But I think it's definitely in the veritas manual which you can find online.
