Verizon needs to go back to all of the random mmWave small cells they built over the past few years and add c band. That would really help their data network.
@PimeTechnology Жыл бұрын
I completely agree. I hope this is in the plans...
@Lanon0987654321 Жыл бұрын
They should add b2 or b66 to improve the speed a bit cuz intra cell affects speeds a bit least till they add SA
@PimeTechnology Жыл бұрын
True, at moment! By the end of the year when 5G Stand Alone and 160 MHz of n77 is On Air, B2/B66 will be almost useless in this situation, crazy enough.

8T8R doesn’t show its limitations unless there are lots of users on the site or at edge of cell. Small cells don’t get congested as often as a macro so that will likely never slow down Update. I seen the whole video. Now I’m impressed 😂
@PimeTechnology Жыл бұрын
I agree completely! 8T8R or 16T16R seems like it is perfect for Small Cells. The right size equipment, which the right performance for the job. I noticed speeds away from the site seemed not as good as 64T64R, but it wasn't as big of a difference as I had expected. I was thoroughly impressed with what this 8T8R site had to offer. Appreciate your input, Terrell!!

@@PimeTechnologyit’s not just 8t8r it also lacks beamforming that’s why you see the speed drop off like that

I absolutely love this video. More like this please! Also, I'm so hyped for Verizon to enable 5G SA because then they can begin aggregating C-Band with mmWave, which of course isn't necessary for raw downlink speed BUT will smooth the process of traveling through mmWave zones within a C-Band coverage area; also, being able to use C-Band for uplink while out of mmWave uplink range BUT within mmWave downlink range would make 5G UW way more performant.

I can't wait for 5G SA n77 + mmWave either! Game changer.

I think it’ll definitely help unload a lot of traffic from the macros and boost capacity in those areas. I’m in an Ericsson market so hopefully we’ll get something similar.

Yeah, I could see a very similar setup with the Ericsson equivalent hardware! Thanks for watching!

So no voice traffic carried by this small cell correct? Voice traffic only travels on LTE currently? Great video, love finding cell sites and trying to figure which carrier it belongs to.
@PimeTechnology Жыл бұрын
Correct. Currently, Voice only goes over LTE. Until VoNR is enabled, no calls or texts will go through this small cell. It’s all data! Thanks for watching!

Me too. N48 would’ve been nice, but the range on CBRS isn’t very good. Still, would’ve been nice! Hell, throw mmWave on it too then. Lol. The CBand is the perfect middle ground I think! Thanks for watching!

Nice to see. I haven't seen this in my market. N77 only. Good for spectrum...and that's not so good LTE RSRP for only a half mile away.... and for 200MHZ that isn't so impressive of speeds
@PimeTechnology Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the LTE was contributing very little here! TMobile 200 MHz definitely underperforming here due to only 1G backhaul. Needs 10G backhaul!! Still great in general.

Hi, I need some advice, I'm going to be getting a new US unlocked phone soon (OnePlus 10 Pro), and I'm planning to connect it to T-Mobile's network. Would I have to root my new phone to get Network Signal Guru to display the bandwidth of the 5G radio channels (i.e. display N41 100MHZ)?

I believe so. You can use NSG without Root, but it shows very, very limited information. To get all the features of NSG, you need Root. 😄
