I took mine to Vermeer. they charged me 1000 for the diagnosis and told me it was the fuel pump. I had the pump rebuilt for 3000 dollars and no difference. I gave up on the machine because I was saving money for a new engine. Two years later I found your video and it took me 10 minutes to fix it. Thank you very very much. You are the best!!!

Do you have any other engine performance issues along with heavy smoke? First, replace fuel filters. Second clean fuel tank, check fuel strainer pick up tube, known issue.

Do these 3.3L cummins engines have a ton of emissions crap on them? I know a 2001 or 2002 would not- but what about later build dates like a 2009 and newer?

Some never engines, especially 2008 and newer will have more EPA restrictions.
