Wow, wow, wow. The best clip I have seen on how to start up vermicompost farm sensibly. Will you come up with the harvesting clip?

It would be great if you make raised worm beds with drip system so you can have worm tea as well for some extra income
@anamikasharma74687 жыл бұрын
Gurson Gurson We add optimum amount of water by hand sprinkler so that all of it is absorbed. If water is in excess it drains off and can be used as vermiwash.

@anamikasharma74686 жыл бұрын
Faris Yusoff The maximum you can add is 1:1 ratio. For greater details of adding differenr biowaste you can refer to the article krishikosh.egranth.ac.in/bitstream/1/5810019232/1/T-80845.pdf

Don’t keep the vermicast in airtight bags! It’s an aerobic product. The bags need small holes for airflow!

Why is the vermicompost packed in air tight bags? Isn't it a living product that should "breathe"? Here I have easy access to sugar can residue. But when I composted it, garden shops wouldn't buy it bc it still contains sugar and will attract ants. Will compost worms be able to process the sugar so that it's gone in the finished vermicompost? Best of luck for your business & greetings from Thailand!

Backgammon Player .The bags are packed air tight and then we make pin size hole at different points. I missed mentioning it in this video. I hope to include this fact in the next video. In India vermicompost is also made from bagasse especially the sugar mills do it with their waste so I see no reason why your vermicompost is not accepted by the local shop.

Hi! You might find it interesting to add some layers of other organic matter. I have an experimental bin to try new things with my worms. Hope it works for you.

Nelson Olivera For my hot compost I did use residue of 5 different fruits + green garden clippings as nitrogen source and sugar cane + brown garden clippings as carbon source. I know that diversity of input materials is important. Now I use the same nitrogen ingredients and sugar cane + leaves as carbon. Since 3 weeks I use that nearly finished (cooled down) compost in my bathtub worm home and so far they enjoy it. Every 3 days I additionally feed them water melon and cantaloupe with cow manure slurry - so far they seem very happy.

I love the set up. However feeding process you failed. Much needed food, and more often. For example chicken starters, more leaves, vegetables, and woodchips, less water.
