Vermilion Club’s 24-Inch “Bamboozler” Pizza Challenge Can Feed 6-9 Adults!!

American professional eater Randy Santel versus The Vermilion Club's 24-Inch "Bamboozler" Poor Gary's Pizza Challenge hosted by The Vermilion Club located on Lake Vermilion in Tower, Minnesota. I attempted 9 competitive eating restaurant challenges during my Minnesota trip. For food challenge event #8 of nine, I traveled northeast to Tower, Minnesota so I could attempt The Vermilion Club's delicious and very popular Poor Gary's 24-Inch "Bamboozler" Pizza Challenge, which is big enough and meant to feed 6-9 adults!! I had just 1 hour to feast on a 24" diameter pizza that they thankfully let me split into fourths. You only have to order a 1-topping pizza for the challenge, but I ordered four different specialty pizza options from Poor Gary's pizza menu. I ordered Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Alfredo, their "House Special" which is basically a Supreme Pizza, and then I was "bamboozled" into ordering their Taco Pizza which was loaded with toppings, including taco sauce. Hundreds of people have failed this solo challenge over the many years it has been available, and only a few people had actually won. Families and groups of 6-9 people still don't even finish it all as a team, and bring home leftovers!! I was trying to win my $60 pizza free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on The Vermilion Club's Wall of Fame. BIG thanks to everyone with The Vermilion Club on Lake Vermilion in Tower, Minnesota for the wonderful food, drinks, and hospitality!! Special thanks also to all our amazing friends who came up that Sunday afternoon to watch and meet me!! I can not fathom taking down a 24 inch pie like that all by myself. It boggles my mind. We have a local independent pizza guy near our home in the Chicago suburbs who serves up an 18 inch Family Size pizza that we really enjoy in a cheese/sausage.pepperoni and bacon flavor and it feeds my wife, son and me for two days. Great job, Randy. It looked delicious, especially the taco portion!
