Danielle, thank you for all your efforts on doing these interviews with your grandparents. You do a fantastic job! Billie and Jo are national treasures, and they are probably the last ones left who truly loved and knew Elvis. I admire that they do not put Elvis on a pedestal, but also do not share stories (especially Billy) that they know to be true, but don’t discuss everything about Elvis, especially private things that may be hurtful. Their love for Elvis and Lisa is real. They’ve got Priscilla pegged 100% though!

Great video/questions today. Thank you to you all. Just an afterthought about Elvis's vacationing in other countries - it's been written that Parker basically said no, to not do that because if he vacationed for example, in England, the fans would question why Elvis was not doing his concerts there. I've seen it written in several places. My understanding from what I have read is that Elvis purchased the two planes in (1975/'76?) with the 'intent he was definitely going to tour' other countries. Billy, could you confirm true or not, on both things? Thank you. 🥰

Enjoyed the video, I don't feel at all like Elvis was disappointed because he didn't tour outside America. That is because through viewing many documentaries I've learned Elvis did not want to leave the US after around 1971. He just could not take the chance with the drugs and guns, if he got caught with them, his career would've been damaged bad. It is sad the people around the world did not get the chance to see him but we can only fault Elvis for it, just like Sonny said. Sadly and honestly Elvis' chance to tour overseas was gone before the opportunity ever came up because after 1971 he could not do it and before that he was still winning America over. We must remember 71 is just 3 years after 68 when he started doing shows again so realistically he never had the chance to do it. It is terrible but my hero got hooked too bad to have a lot of his decisions and the decisions made by his management to make much sense. For example, why in the world would Elvis agree to do 2 shows a night, 7 days a week for four or five weeks in Vegas. Elvis did not have to agree with it and we blame others for Elvis' mistakes but Elvis did what Elvis wanted to do so I believe he wanted to be on stage 28 nights in a row in Vegas, he didn't want to then all he had to say was No. This is not harsh, it's simply the truth and I feel horrible about some of his choices, they hurt him and the last thing I wanted was to see my hero hurt. Take Care

I wish Elvis would of taught Lisa the love of God and what his parents taught him growing up. Read the Bible stories to her and explain his beliefs. I think that would have gotten Lisa through so many hard times. She would often understood his gospel songs and would have been uplifted and not thought they were distressing. It's the love of God that gets you through hard times . She could have then passed it on to the other children. They would 15:13 understood. Stayed away from scientology.

Since Billy and Jo brought up the topic of Elvis slapping Memphis Mafia member Charlie Hodge, please ask them to comment on these two other incidents as related by Billy's close friend and fellow Memphis Mafia member, Sonny West. According to Sonny, in addition to backhanding Charlie Hodge, Elvis, once threw a pool cue at a starlet named Judy Alden striking her in the chest. And, Elvis punched Sonny in the face in a separate incident also involving Billy and Elvis' cousin, Gene Smith. Both of these incidents happened in California in the early 1960s. Here is the exact excerpt from Sonny's book: One anecdote shared by Sonny West, Presley’s former bodyguard in his 2007 book Elvis: Still Taking Care of Business, exemplified one of the King’s darker moments. West alleged that Presley, while under the influence of drugs, hit a young woman with a pool cue hard enough to knock her over. One evening, West took Judy Alden, an actress he was casually dating, to a party at one of Presley’s homes on Bellagio Road in Los Angeles. Presley was shooting pool with the guys as usual when West walked in with his date. But he could tell that the singer wasn’t his normal self. He seemed cold, aloof, and put out. West said Presley “grew increasingly frustrated” during a game of eight ball, “as he missed a lot of easy shots he normally would have made.” From there, things only went from bad to worse. West’s date began to grow bored, as she realized that meeting the King of Rock and Roll wasn’t turning out the way she’d hoped. Alden finally told West she wanted to leave and asked him to move his car, which was blocking hers in the driveway. Presley - who was normally the consummate gentleman with female guests - began to “bark” at his friend, asking “what the hell his date wanted.” West tried to deescalate the situation by speaking softly, but Presley was having none it. Finally, “Elvis blew,” West wrote, adding that he screamed explosively: “‘Hell, man, you’re playing pool! Let her get someone else to move the car.’” After seeing Presley blow up over something so minor, Alden figured out that something wasn’t quite right. Now she wanted to leave more than ever - but it wasn’t going to be so easy. According to West, Presley screamed and swore yet again when Alden continued to ask if she could go home. Finally, tired of being yelled at, Alden screamed back, telling Presley to “go to hell.” “At that point, [Presley] threw his pool cue at Judy, striking her in the chest,” West wrote in Elvis: Still Taking Care of Business. “She fell to the floor, and when I ran over to her, she was crying.” Stunned and still crumpled on the floor, Alden asked why the singer had assaulted her. West realized at that point that there was no good answer he could give. West speculated that the alleged incident must have been drug-related, since Presley had “taken uppers” that night. Although Presley wasn’t immune from the occasional outburst, West insisted that violence against women in any form was usually unlike him. “Elvis did have a bad temper, but he would never do something like that to a woman if he wasn’t under the influence of something,” Presley’s friend mused. Presley was visibly “stunned and disgusted by his own behavior” after the pool cue incident, but his pride wouldn’t allow him to apologize. Instead, West had to do the apologizing for Presley. He nervously hemmed and hawed about the singer being under stress as he made sure she was OK and led her out of the house. Obviously, Presley isn’t here to defend himself or give his side of the story, so we can’t know for sure what happened. Still, several other sources close to the singer have since affirmed West’s version of events, according to the Elvis History Blog. For his part, West was shocked that Alden never pursued legal action or any kind of lawsuit against Presley after the incident. He also realized something unfortunate about himself in the process: how far he and his friends were willing to go to protect Presley’s reputation - even if he was in the wrong. “I hate to admit this, but none of us would have backed her up,” West confessed as to what he would have done if Alden had taken action against the King. “To this day, I don’t feel good about that statement.” Here's an excerpt of an interview Sonny West gave to John Katsilometes of the Las Vegas Sun: 'Elvis hit me once, after I was with him for one year. He had a problem with me over this girl that was with Tuesday Weld, who Elvis was dating at the time. I was with her friend, and Elvis leaned in and kissed her on the cheek, right in front of me. Later, I looked at over her across the room and he had really started kissing her, her arms are going up his back and everything. I asked Tuesday, 'Doesn't this bother you?' and she said, 'No, me and Elvis just have fun together'. I went over to Elvis' cousin, Gene Smith, and I said, 'I'm burnt! To a crisp! Shot down! That Elvis, he's smooth as silk!' Then I say, 'Gene, if you had to pick between Tuesday and that girl, who would you pick?' He says, 'I'd pick Tuesday'. And I say, 'I'd pick Tuesday, too'. Well, Elvis was watching me and he said, 'What'd you say about me, Sonny?' I told him I'd just said something to Gene, 'It wasn't about you, Elvis'. But he came after me and he had a bottle in his hand and he says, 'I'm going to break this GD bottle' - I'm not going to say what GD meant, but you get the meaning - 'over your head'. I told him he wasn't hitting me over the head with any bottle. I told him, 'You're starting to act like a Gestapo officer! I quit!' He says, 'You can't quit, you're fired!' 'Whatever you want to call it, I'm leaving!' I said, and started to leave. He stopped me from leaving and hauled off and hit me in the jaw and then squared off, like he was ready to go. It brought tears to my eyes, and I stalked off to the bedroom - this was in Bel Air - and started packing my suitcase. He was working on Blue Hawaii at the time, and I just couldn't hit him. I loved Elvis to death. It would have been like hitting your own father. It was the only time anyone ever hit me and I didn't hit back. Later, a reviewer said that Elvis can be happy that Sonny didn't hit him back'.

If you don’t mind either reading the book, Elvis and Lucy or go over to rare Elvis photos and listen to the book yourself there’s a playlist and you can hear why Lucy didn’t tell Elvis. It’s a very, very sad story when the book came out for one thing, it took two years for her to even talk to the author. It took her over two years to tell the author About Elvis took over 4 1/2 years when the book was finally finished. Yes she did some interviews, but she refused to take any money on the channel Elvis video. You can listen to him yourself. You can even contact him yourself. She won’t even take money from the book, she refused he literally had to fight with her that he cannot keep that money. It belongs to her so it wasn’t done over money and you got to remember like the Arthur said that poem that he wrote to Lucy and yes six expert said that’s handwriting two FBI men said that’s Elvis handwriting. She could’ve sold that for 100,000 back then, the Arthur doesn’t even know if their daughter Destiny still has that letter that poem did Lucy wanted buried with her so it actually could be buried with Lucy the daughter might have it but nobody knows it would be nice to know if that is his real daughter because you would be related and I would be nice for her to hear somebody from the family you got to remember Elvis was 18 years old and you know how an 18 year old boy thinks 18 years old lol so yeah I do believe Destiny is his child. See unless you know the story you wouldn’t understand why she kept it a secret all those years you you got to listen to the story and explains everything.

Did Billy and Jo happen to address, the Lucy/Desiree issue? If so, I missed it. A few weeks back, I posted a question for them to answer. Will you please let me know?

Ali loved Elvis. He really thought the world of Elvis and considered him a brother. Their friendship was real and Ali even spoke at an Elvis Week event as he was starting to show signs of his Parkinson's Disease. He truly loved Elvis.
