I lived here for 2 years when I was a kid. Still have friends and now Italian family there some 60 years later. What's great about this city is that it looks the same 60 years later, and they treasure it's history and look. There is only 1 high rise building [I guess 15 floors] and after looking at that unsightly building the people of Verona must have taken the decision that they do not need apartment buildings more than 6 floors, all in sync with the flavour of the town. As well, one can appreciate the difference in the people of Verona vs the people of Rome.

That is incredible!! We enjoyed that about it as well - there is such an obvious preservation and reverence for history; we loved it!

Hi and thanks, Krystal & Eric for taking us to Verona along with you. I like seeing the aged and weathered historical architecture. One of my favorites@0:36. Wow, this place offers rich historical heritage throughout the town through your lens. Your audience including myself very much appreciate local info in this video. Well done and look forward to explore more videos. 😎

I love that you guess have gone off the beaten track. We are planning a trip to France and I am planning the same thing. Good to explore different places. I am adding this one to our list. I love the balcony. Nice area to seat drink a cup of coffee. So many beautiful places to see there. How many days did you stay there? We are thinking 3 nights 4 days!

Ooooo la la France! Where to while you're there? And definitely go to Verona if you can - it was probably our favorite place in Italy! It was 3 nights/4 days!

Being able to really experience the local culture.. but also access some touristy spots sounds great. Very interesting though that there are restrictions on vehicles, I think we would really enjoy walking or biking around...once we got our luggage to where it needed to be 😆
@krystalanderic2 жыл бұрын
hahaha yesss the luggage conundrum is the toughest part - once that's settled, you're golden! This place really was the perfect blend of tourist sites and local immersion. Bikes would be a great way to see it!!

Actually Verona isn't really much of a secret. I'd say Mantua was more of one.but then again Italy is such a trasure chest of remarkably beautiful places that everyone who wants to look can find their own secret little gem.
@krystalanderic2 жыл бұрын
Verona definitely is a hidden gem where I'm from - I picked it as one of our stops literally by looking at the map of Italy and seeing it was halfway between Milan and Venice haha. That is the second recommendation for Mantua - it must be a nice place!
@maxharbig11672 жыл бұрын
@@krystalanderic Of course it's a nice place but it's now secret , It's full of tourists from everywhere particularly when there is the the opera season in the Roman arena and, of course, there's the Romeo and Juliet think invenveted by an astute tourist agent in the 1950's or 60's.

Great video. We love Verona! And yes, we had the horsemeat (carne di cavallo). It was delicious, very similar to fillet mignon but better! We were also so excited to see the opera Turandot in the colosseum, AMAZING! Enjoy your travels! Cin Cin!

Ferrara, Bologna, Mantua, Brescia, Mantua, Padua are off the beaten track. Let’s go to some of these small towns. Turin is beautiful and hardly any Americans go there. Don’t waste your time in Milan. Go to areas nearby like Varese and Lake Orta. Real Italy fewer tourists

Don’t show so much of yourself, only sights if this is truly a travelvlog.. Take the train and stay near the train station. Don’t show the commercial touristy sights. Concentrate on architecture, art and landscape. How about market day? The interior of Santa Anastasia is so beautiful. Castello Vecchio has some great art. Giardino Gusti would have been nice to see.
