I thought it would be interesting to explore how all the events are still sticking with her after everything that happened... The death of 4 people (including your "Best friend" and the guy you loved) is not something you just get over. But Heather Mac and Martha are still there to help her out!

A lot of people are saying this like its a theory but I just wanted to confirm that yes- this is what I imagine that Veronica had to go through afterwards which would be qualified as PTSD that I think she spends a very long time trying to recover from ((with the help of Heather Mac and Martha - though there is only so much they can do for that)) and while she might seek professional help there's only so much that can be done without revealing that she appears complicate in 3 murders (4 if you count shooting JD even if he didn't die from it, she had thought she'd killed him at the time)

In that time, they played croquet and did lunchtime polls and went to parties that Veronica never got the opportunity to attend before. Chandler wasn't a great person, but letting someone in on the local orgy in exchange for a fake essay is probably the nicest thing she knows how to do for someone.

@Gacha Lixxy the musical still takes it way less seriously than the movie though and the shift from it being a joke to being an actual serious thing that happened and that Veronica should put a stop to by taking control over her relationship with JD and trying to fix things a way that was not so chaotic (what she does in the end by taking Heather C's scrunchy away from Heather D and going to watch movies with Martha) is not so obvious in the musical and the relization is a bit rushed and less impactful, the movie makes it pretty clear that everything that happened is not right, while in the musical the relization and tone shift regarding this makes it lose a bit of the social commentary and pretty much the whole point of the story.

@Lixxy x yeah Heathers was made to joke about all the cliche teen movies that were made in the 80s also. With it having the usual group of popular girls 'likeable' love interest. The nerdy girl becoming popular ect. It's not something to be taken seriously and obviously not one to watch if your sensitive to dark comedy. I mean it's kinda bread and butter to some dark comedies that exist. I think Heathers is alright and don't find it offensive for the way it joked about death and suicide and toxic relationships and stuff, but like if you do find it offensive dark humor probably isn't for you. Sorry this rant is tooooooo long for my liking.

Trixie S/M JD was a victim in a way, he had a bad childhood, and had to see his mother die. But that doesn't mean he wasn't responsible for his actions. Their future wasnt "ripped away from them". Veronica asks repeatedly for JD to stop so that they /can/ have a future. But he doesn't listen. He is a psychopath who killed 3 people and was going to kill hundreds more.

@@moneynbitches69 psychopath would be the correct term. He planned out his crimes and left minimal evidence. The only one that was spontaneous was Heather Chandler's and even then he hid evidence and was able to put it off as something else. Every other murder, including the attempted blowing up of the school, was planned out and left/would've left minimal to no evidence. A psychopath plans things in advance and is careful with evidence, a sociopath tend to act spontaneously and leave evidence. If he was a sociopath he probably would've been caught. Sorry about the long message, I had to do a presentation on psychopaths vs sociopaths at school and I mentioned how they get mixed up a lot and I just wanted to show why he would've been a psychopath rather than a sociopath. The only thing that hints at him possibly being a sociopath is his attitude towards school since sociopaths tend to drop out of school and/or are unable to keep a steady job.

The worse part is that Veronica can never tell Heather M. and Martha about her pain for fear of losing them too. For all they know, Veronica is still shaken up about the "suicides" of her peers and J.D's "disappearance". Martha and Heather can hug Veronica, hold her hand and tell her "we're here for you" all they want but will never understand.

The J.D part broke me, Imagine how she felt. Veronica Sawyer, gets her first serious boyfriend, not long after joining the Heathers, J.D starts out swell and nice, then turns into a psycho, killing. Veronica must’ve wanted to say something but didn’t want to lose him, she faked her death after killing both Heather C. And Kurt and Ram, what if she truly ended her life from the stress, She shot her first “lover” and watched him die right in front of her eyes... This is still a better love story than Twilight tho :p

Its unnerving how the lyrics fit what happened to everyone. Heather Chandler: "Oh yeah, let it go" She was a bully to Veronica, and perhaps V just wanted that to be an excuse to "let it go" that she died. Kurt and Ram: "Can't stand, it" This was (in my opinion) the first blood she got on her hands, considering she shot one of them, and kept secret about both. She couldn't stand that guilt. J.D: "Harmless, let it go" J.D was her love. She viewed him as harmless and not to scary at first, but now that she seen his ways, hes dead, and shes trying to move on, she wants to let go. (Edit) she also could be "letting go" of what J.D did since she loved him. The last lyric is "In my head" describing how everything still haunts her.

Yeah they did meet at the 7/11 but if JD didn’t crawl through her window (movie), Or if Veronica didn’t leave the party (musical) then Veronica would’ve snuck into Heather’s house and gave her the hangover cure instead of accidentally taking the cup of liquid drainer. Honestly if there's one thing I dislike about the musical it's the ending. The ending acts as if there would be no horrible effects from /killing three people and shooting a loved one before watching them die/(obviously this is done to make the musical end on a lighter note but still, at least the movie shows some physical signs of trauma). Your animatic perfectly captures what Veronica must feel after the trauma and I'm very glad this exists. You did an amazing job at conveying the emotions of each character too like, oh my god. This in general is an amazing animatic and you're and amazing animator, keep up the good work. Sorry for the long rant :')

I rewatch this so much! It’s so powerful! Seriously, you make me feel so much emotion in these! Like I have to be like “I’m not crying!”And yes, I think it’s true Veronica just didn’t go back to her happy old self, even though everything that went down with JD was crazy, i think she still loves him. You can tell by “I am Damaged” when she clearly doesn’t want him to go, she knew he had a lot of emotional scaring that led him to do what he’d become. And of course the murders would haunt her memory as well, but the only person she had to talk to about it is well, dead as well. I mean she could talk to others but not as deeply cause, you know..murder and all. It would be a tough for her to go through. I’m glad you brought that to light as well, showing that even though the musical ended, for everyone involved it really didn’t. That would follow the characters around and though it was a somewhat “happy ending” with Veronica disbanding the Heathers once and for all it was far more deep than that.

I don’t think the movie Veronica would’ve really had this exact kind of ptsd, but definitely musical Veronica, because she was genuinely in love with JD and felt he deserved a second chance. I always thought that maybe things went back to normal for Veronica, but she still had some memory of JD, but I never imagined this. I thought maybe she did go to Stanford, even writing about her and everything that happened for her collage entries. This is a seriously amazing video, it made me appreciate everything I have now. It really does portray her feelings. I guarantee for example If I met someone and became their girlfriend. They turned out to be insane. They killed my best friend and wanted to kill more. Me and him then killed 2 people that often bothered me or people that were my friends. Later he wanted to kill everyone but dies in the end from blowing up but before that he tries to kill me. (lol that's fake xD) If 2 years had passed I would have really wanted to die or I would have really hated myself. This is what Veronica's feeling and I love how you thought of this and animated how she would have felt :3 thumbs up from me 👍🏻

The wonderful thing about Veronica is that by the end of the show, she has arguably been through as much trauma as J.D did, but she still chooses to be kind and loving anyway, and reconnects with Martha and Heather McNamara. She doesn’t give in to hate like J.D did, she chooses to try to make the world beautiful. I think that’s extraordinary. It’s good to see a realistic depiction of some of the PTSD she would definitely have though.
