I'm definitely using whips. I love Veronica as a caster. In fact I love offensive attacking mages in all games, but I'm totally ready to try out new stuff with these characters. I'm excited to do try out Jade with claws as well.

If I’m being honest, Zing Stick is pretty good when you have draconian challenges on and your healer dies. I had several on: player dies = game over, no shopping, tougher enemies, and exp scaling; so depending on enemy drops and stealing them with Erick means limited Yggdrasil leafs and revisiting several areas to harvest items. I even use oophle on Hero and pep up to use the MP and HP skill for a full heal and mana recover. So yeah, challenges made my experience a lot different.

I play with exp scaling and tougher enemies, which is what I base my videos off. I can see where that would be useful though. I haven't tried out no shopping yet.

Oh I believe it. When I tried draconian I had to treat every single regular monster encounter as a fight for survival in a tough boss fight. So not being conservative about my MP use was important. I remember doing a lot of healing until I got a good rhythm going with my party. I think when you finally get Serena and Veronica early on the game jumps up in difficulty. You fight more monsters, more character to keep from dying. So it changes the dynamic a bit with having to manage a larger party, but in Draconian I remember this being tough.

On my first play through. In post game. I’m strength seeding Veronica right now while listening so I can get that whip damage up.

Whips really are that crazy lol. I suggest using wands and investing SP into the vim tree until you can get enough skill points back from rectification to immediately get the whip attack boosts so you can avoid the low amount of damage whips do early on. I still need to test if it's better to use whips or spells with wands when you get Channel Anger as you can get it before Oomphle. I've only gotten through most of Act 1 in the playthrough I am using her with whips so I'm yet to see if they still hold up in Act 3 without seed grinding but I doubt they will since she gets a lot more magical might than strength through her level ups, her expanded skill tree can give a total of 90+ magical might which is more than the +65 attack, and her best armor boosts magical might

Quite the illuminating guide. Would u say that whip Veronica is worth respeccing into, in uhh late Act 1? I'm before Sniflheim and I saw screenshots of Twin Dragon Lash outputting 400, I just wish Sylvando has that skill too.

If the spells actually had the damage caps that are listed, this would be a great video. All it takes is one in game test to figure out these numbers are not correct.

I’m pretty sure the caps are stated BEFORE damage calculation with your stats. I guess I should have made that clear. Yes they are not EXACT numbers. It’s just an rough cap

My veronica is does an awful lot more than damage with wands and spells. Her base strength is go so low its cant get anywhere her MM

300 of DMG at level 21. Wait my Veronica is exactly at that level, and she can't do more than 80 ;( but i was running staff.t thanks for these guides! I was going all wrong. Hero with swords, Erik with fulling knifes (without knowing the dually deadly stuff and how boomerangs are broken). And now Veronica...i will look Serena and sylvando, probably going wrong with them too 😅

There is no wrong way to play! I personally find whips etc a lot more fun, and the damage is far superior. Bare in mind I also play on harder monsters!
