Victimiser is a boss destroyer! Bosses tend to be resist many status ailments, except for poison. Picture this: in round 1 you have Erik divide, Sylvando poison the boss, Veronica oomphle Erik, and Rab cast sap. If the poison and sap both land, insane damage will follow! And if Sylv's poison doesn't land, a cobra strike from a divided Erik will be 3x as likely to stick

Victimiser isn’t that good in boss battles at all if anything keeping them poisoned mixed with scorched earth is way better

@@RnDBMX Victimiser doesn't cancel the Scorched Earth effect, so my strategy doesn't preclude using that pep power when it's available. So you're basically arguing that a few extra rounds of meager poison damage is preferable to Divide+Victimiser for 18x damage plus 3x from any weapon in his other hand... smh

@@RnDBMX victimiser strats are used in world record speedruns precisely because they melt bosses

@@RnDBMX Poison is 50 damage a turn for the boss and eventually does wear off for them (a bad round of the party getting snoozed repeatedly allowed me to find this out). Divide and Victimizer lets Erik hit for over 1K damage on the LOW end. With crits and fully buffed, I saw him get to 4.5K. Letting the boss get slowly hit for 50 damage doesn't compare.

Pretty sure the passives work with any weapon so getting the crit from knives will apply to swords and boomerangs too. The passives just apply to the character's stats.

Knives, sword, then boomerang. Boomerang is not out dmging knives

What i do with Erick is duel wield make the enemy sleep and then use the attack that deals i ton of times more than usually would and it's an inta win

@@petergeramin7195 I know that you commented 2 months ago, but let me answer anyway: No, it doesn't. Much more normal enemies seem to be resistant to sleep compared to poison. Additionally, you can poison most bosses in this game (if not all?), but not put all of them to sleep. Also, when you poison an enemy and it gets hit, the poison effect doesn't wear off. With sleep, if a sleeping enemy is hit by a physical attack, the sleep effect is quite likely to end. So, yeah, poison is WAY more reliable for what you want to do with Erik (use Victimizer).

Boomerangs arenhis best but i wont recommend investing on it early on, id say act1-early act 2 is better off with knives and since it still does dumbtruck dmg with victimiser

You have 100% convinced me to use whips on Veronica because Twin Dragon Lash hits like a truck and it makes perfect sense to use all physical damage for boss fights since Veronica is a mandatory member for Sap. However, I found boomerangs to be lackluster for Erik so far (lvl 32) on my first playthrough. I appreciate having access to Power Throw since abilities hitting all targets are quite rare and Pink Pirouette costs way too much MP, but the overall damage is still rather low. My Power Throw doesn't hit nearly as high as in your playthrough on KZbin at the same level, maybe I'm doing something wrong... Erik also becomes completely useless for boss fights in this build. A good excuse to use Jade as a substitute for pure single target damage I guess!

Had an early game question about partner abilities/skills/spells. I got half inch for Erik but can't figure out how to use it. Please help.

Half inch is the same as ‘Steal’ from many other JRPGs where you have a chance to steal an item from the enemy. Half inch has a pretty low success rate early on especially without the accessory that boosts the chances of it working.

I'm trying to get Eric's pep skill and I have no clue on how to get it not unless it comes with some of the costumes or certain weapons

If you mean a skill that instantly peps him up than its because he doesn't have one. The only character that has that skill is the Hero.

The 10k dmg is very low with eric i got him to deal about 30k dmg to a single enemy
