Loved the video, Veronica! Your sleek hairstyle is stunning! My biggest flop this year was a blind buy-Crème Brûlée. I love the concept, but it’s way too sweet and feels like a literal gourmand, which I just can’t wear. It actually reminds me of a super sweet coconut biscuit I used to eat as a kid. Another disappointment for me was Jusbox Carioca Heart. Even though I tried a 2 ml sample before buying, I still can’t wear it without feeling nauseated - will keep trying!

The only fragrances I tried that were an immediate, resounding NO! Were Angel, Alien Goddess Intense, Initio Side Effect, and Mancera Red Tobacco! I couldn’t get them off my body fast enough! That was actually last year. This year I’ve been more discerning with my choices!😂😂 Chantecaille makeup and skincare were pretty ordinary, imo, for price they command. My granddaughter loved the Future Skin Foundation in a jar because I gave it to her. 😂Now, I would never even consider trying a fragrance. 😳😂 Looking forward to the rest of this series. ❤️🎄🌟❤️

Hi! I came across one of your videos yesterday and decided to subscribe. Initially I was into makeup in 2019, but when 2020 came along, not so much so then I got more into perfume, I had a small collection before that but now I’m always trying different ones. I’m a consumer of travel sizes mostly. I like fresh, fruity scents. I work in an office so I try not to wear too many loud ones, if I do weekends only. I buy decants online. I do frequent Sephora & Ulta from time to time. Lush & B&BW too. I have the pear Jam but haven’t worn it in awhile. I need to try it again because I didn’t care for it the first time I tried it.

Hello my dear! Great video!😍😘 I agree with you in quite a few here, in my case I haven't purchased them because of similar reasons you're decluttering. Deep Dark Vanilla is not what I expected, DS&Durga is a great house but their fragrances are quite edgy and different than what we usually have in mind, so it's a hit or miss. I do have a couple from the house that I love, but I'm happy with the couple I have. Now, I LOVE Le Wild! To me it's the most photorealistic gardenia fragrance you can find since most of them smell like tuberose, not actual gardenia, not sure about the smoky accord never smelled that, how interesting. I can't stand Vanilla Leather by BDK either sorry 🙃. Thanks for this video, dear V! 😍😍

Hi Veronica! I HATE Blue Heart. Exactly the same experience: harsh, abrasive, and screechy. It falls in the same category as Bon Bon Pop for me. I can't get with them. I think for me the worst thing I smelled was Tuberose Astrale. Again, same harshness, and screechy.

I thought I liked it, but I am starting to think I got it because its reputation. It is sooo effing loud! Quentin Bisch is not my favorite perfumer at all... I am more a Dominique Ropion girl, or Fabrice Pellegrin, Julien Rasquinet.

Hi Veronica, firstly thanks for your content all year it is a joy to have a new vid pop up which I listen to while I work, always love listening to you. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas! My scent fail for the year #1 was Francesca Bianchi Sex and the Sea. It is just overwhelming of fresh dill. The dry down is OK but not enough to justify waiting through blaring dill, of the variety of that loud room talker you mentioned 😅. Perhaps I just need to let it macerate and I guess I can tolerate it till then since the bottle and juice is so pretty, I put it in a collection with my sea/aquatic/tropical scents and it at least looks nice there.

When I sampled Blue Heart I told my husband it was chemical warfare, so it was a no. And yes, Vanille Leather should have been a me scent, but it wasn't. Fortunately I didn't buy either so it wasn't a total regret. But Almond Suede I sampled, loved, bought, and now regret because from the bottle the leather takes over the almond, at least on me.

Hey Veronica! Yep I love Blue Heart 💙 It took me a while to understand it tho, not love at first sniff. I find it lush and full and round and delicious. Also love BDK Vanille Leather; just wore it the other day (even tho doctor wants me completely off perfume 😡. ) It got me interested in Violets 💟💟 this year. Old pancakes and cheap syrup 🤣🤣🤣 I was at IHOP over Thanksgiving with my in-laws and yes….that smell is for real and particular one! 🥞🥞 My most hated this year are Bianco Latte 🥴🤢 and Valaya. The latter is the epitome of screechy/unpleasant to me: musk, aldehydes and soapy 🧼 is not my thing.

I found myself buying into the Middle Eastern cheapy hype this year and in 2024 - Honour and Glory, Sondos and Brioche Vanille from Lattafa were the worst for me!! NO way! I did better this year at buying decants of more expensive perfumes first, and using 10ml first of all "full bottles" I ended up buying.

3000% agree with you about Pear Jam. I bought the travel size, for me the Raspberry went a little medicinal and the Pear was smelled dirty...also I don't know if it's the patchouli or akigalawood but it's giving a damp wood. For me this year I finally got my hands on the Perfumehead sample set (which gives you a voucher towards a full bottle.. that I did not use.) I thought that I would really like Room No. it was in my cart waiting for me. Sadly that nutmeg and milk note made me gag. It was giving that smell of spoiled milk before it goes sour. The rest of the line was just okay, nothing to write home about even though people rave about Cosmic Cowboy and Canadian Tuxedo, they aren't really new scent profiles, they are just regular scents with one odd note added.

At 0:57 I purchased Roja "Fetish"(which has been discontinued)from Jomashop but Greta Beth, who has a large Roja collection, said it's a very "hard wear" becuase it's supposed to resemble "Deviant" Sex. 😮 The revviews on Fragrantica are Stellar but she kept saying it "wouldn't be my thing" and I trust her fragrance input so I cancled the order. My worst full bottle/sample buys for 2024 were: -BB full bottle of Blue Heart /Thameen (it was so so bad it gave me a migraine and had to take a shower and scrub it off; I almost threw away the t-shirt I had sprayed it on😂 -sample of Peach’s Revenge/Sarah Baker (nauseatingly sweet that I couldn’t even try it on my skin) -sample of’Queen of Silk/Creed: that perfume is so offensively loud that I can’t bring myself to try it on skin!! And I honestly am considering throwing the sample away!! -sample of Leisure in Paradise/Simone Andreoli: I sprayed it on after a shower one evening and it turned so stinky (think dirty diapers/spoiled milk), I had to get out of bed and take another shower 😢😢

Old ass pancakes 🤣🤣That was priceless! Guidance was my big stinker this year. Definitely NOT for me. I even sampled Guidance 46 since everyone said it was better but still a nope for me. And while I really liked the scent of Rouge Smoking, on me it straight up smelled like root beer. And speaking of loud fragrances, I just sprayed a sample of Kajal Lamar and got a pineapple punch to the face! 🍍Hopefully it calms down because it is pretty but wow is that potent! I have Blue Heart but have not yet given it a wear so I sprayed on my hand when I heard this and will say it is not bad on me. I like it will have to give it some more love:)) The clean, fresh fragrance I LOVE is J-Scent Paper Soap if you want a long lasting fresh, aldehydic fragrance this is the one you should try!!!

Okay...there's two and the accords look very similar of Fragrantica: woody, green, mossy, earthy...and I think the "earthy" actually means "uncomposted manure". They are Choc de Cardin (I was hoping that the choc meant the patchouli would be a chocolate patchouli...not!) and Cabochard by Grès, and I thought I would like that one based on reviews. I retried them this week...they haven't changed. One other I need to retry is Mackie by Bob Mackie, but while I thought I would love it...not. i will try again.

Hi Veronica! I totally agree with you! Blue heart was so off putting. I didn’t understand the hype! And Tarte Tatin was gross, artificial, chemical, strong, nothing like a Tarte Tatin at all. Am French and I know what Tarte Tatin smells like, I grew up with it. My Mom is an amazing baker and use to make it often. So I definitely know what that smells like. And Jousset “interpretation” was NOT it! 🤢

Hi, Veronica. This video reminded me of an experience. When I was in high school, more than 50 years ago, there was a girl in carpool who always smelled bad to me, although she appeared well groomed. Several years later, we met in college and talked. She wasn’t very nice in high school, and I attributed the bad smell to that; yes, I don’t know any scientific evidence for that! When I met her some years later she seemed sweet and no bad smell. She probably matured and became nice AND switched perfumes!

Early morning Veronica for me. Bom dia I'm not gonna say they stink, but for my taste, I bought and returned 212NYC (too vintage) and MFK Fluidity Silver (too masculine). I cannot with GA Goddess Intense; it has a plastic-y note, and the EDP is just dull to me. Lastly, Devotion by D&G EDP and Intense smell like medicine, like cough syrup...can't do it 😅 Great video 😂🎉🎉

Hello 🥰, I thought I could do no wrong with Guerlain, I blind bought Terracotta, with one light spritz; it smelled like I’d dropped 3 of the worst smelling perfumes on the floor and overpowered my poor nose, it really did not work on my skin, even anosmic hubby, kept saying “what is that smell”? As you’d stated; the notes appeared right down my alley but goodness , on my skin it was dreadful, couldn’t even scrub it off. I sprayed stronger amber, tobacco and musk oil over the area to smother it . Hooooo weeeee mama 😷😵‍💫 You look great, as always🥰 MWAAAA♥️❤️🩷🧡🙋🏻‍♀️🇦🇺

Firstly, you look stunning with your hair like that, and your sweater is gorgeous. I have insisted on sampling everything, using a large sample (5 mil), and if I don’t love it, I don’t buy. That has worked very well. But now you are telling me that you did sample some of these. I wonder why a FB might translate differently? I haven’t tried any of these, but I did buy a couple of travel sprays from an Indy house on Etsy that were fails. I don’t want to call them out because I think it is just me, and I would feel badly for costing such a small company sales. I have no issues doing the same for some of these pricey large houses, though. No one wants to pay exorbitant prices to smell like stale pancakes or cigarettes😄

This had me cracking up. Why oh why does this happen? Chatecaille lip products are my jam lipstick, lip chic (Red Juniper is my ride or die) and lip sheer! So moisturising and long lasting. 😅 couldn’t do Chiron or Dionisio…. Both salty and odd. Chiron smelt better of the two (no puke). Leather Vanille swings between nice and annoying for some reason. Worst samples for me Xerjoff Alexandria II omg 🤢 like smelling someone on high heat who hasn’t bathed and has incredibly strong smelling dirty hair - that oil smell? And an oilskin that has been stored wet under the house and pulled out dusty, fusty and reeking of mold and dirtiness. The worst perfume I’ve ever smelt. Erba Gold 🤢 stinky fruit smelt through a very scratchy grainy musk (I now know what scratchy musk feels like) - yuck In fact most Xerjoffs stink to me - that musk just destroys everything except my two loves Pikovaya Dama ❤️ and Accento Overdose 💚. Hermes Twilly Tutti - just smelt like stinky plant latex and hot fresh vomit. Carolina Herrera Tuberose 😢 hot salty fruit in water with a strong mushroom overtone 😞 Frassai Victoria 😫🤢 like you’ve just caught a big fish and bled it. Hot pumping blood. Awful stuff. I can can go a lifetime without that ever again. Bianco Latte - sad, boring vanilla cheap smell. Then my nose goes to sleep. Not understanding why the fuss. Meh! Frederic Malle Acne Studios 😞 I love clean aldehydic. What the heck. Like you stuck your face into a box of strong washing powder. And it’s stuck to your face like a clown. I might somehow like it in future. But so far….no Think those are the worse ones for me this year 😂

I had two terrible fragrances experiences this year. The first was Burberry Her. I received a sample with a Sephora order and immediately gave it to my teenage daughter as I knew it wouldn’t be for me. The day she came out wearing it I almost threw up. It gave me an instant headache and the synthetic strawberry made me incredibly nauseous. She was really bummed with my reaction because she really liked it. The second was with Goddess Intense. I thought the original was ok but a little bit boring. I was excited to try intense because I love patchouli. I sprayed it on my wrist while at Ulta and had the same reaction as with Burberry Her. Instant headache and nausea.

I don't think I tried any true stinkers recently, but I got a big decant of Vanilla Powder, and it's just not for me. I'm liking it a little bit more as time goes on, but it doesn't feel like me. I think I might have a similar experience to you with Vanille Leather, so I haven't even gotten a sample of it.

Thanks for the laugh again😂 Had the same experience with Oud Maracuja (and Hibiscus Mahajad): nice smell but just too strong to not feel self-conscious all day long. And Blue Heart smelled kinda greasy! One of the few fragrances I did hate (there are only 4 I think) and smelled like old ass syrup to me was A Whiff of Waffle Cone. Wow, the air around me smelled like sweaty fenugreek maple syrup and I just couldn’t stand it AT ALL. Also disliked Cinnamon Roll: a whole stick of butter with a bunch of pepernoten (that’s how we call them in the Netherlands, don’t know if they are sold worldwide?).
