Verrazano Bridge Decking Project

The Verrazano Bridge handles all of the traffic from Staten Island to New York City. In 2015/2016, all of the bridge decking and approximately one foot of concrete was replaced with a thinner and lighter orthotropic bridge deck design, extending the life of the bridge for an anticipated 100 years. Contractor Tutor Perini selected Lincoln Electric equipment and welding consumables for the project to fabricate approximately 10 miles of welds.

Wow I would love to work on that bridge ,I use to travel on that bridge going to the Jersey Shore about four or five times a summer .Yes Im a joysey boy lol!! born and raised In Bergan and sussex County NJ

From 95 in Jersey to the Belt Parkway has been being repaired and bumper to bumper for over 29yrs. the verrazano Bridge is the last leg. OY

What waterproofing & wearing system was be used? Please help me check this, I need solution for this type of bridge deck, the orthotropic steel deck

Why don't the tower lights light up anymore. It looks like they have been removed. Does anyone know why?
