Construction at 35 Hudson Yards, known as Tower E, started construction in 2015. It is part of the 28-acre site designed to house 16 skyscrapers to be built over the top of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s West Side Yards. Hudson Yards is the largest construction project of its kind.
Contractor Tutor Perini was selected to coordinate the fabrication of the core steel to support the 79 story mixed used Tower E building. 80,000 pounds of weld metal were used.
