It's been 13 yrs since the last time Clive saw Torgal. Within that 13 yrs, Clive has suffered emotional damage. So if seeing Torgal does not make Clive burst into tears is because of all the suffering he faced during those 13 yrs under the rule of the empire. He needs time to get everything settle down first before he can even go back to his usual self.
