Hey there's nothing like our Michigan & its many majesties. The five Great Lakes are a wonder unto themselves. The entire experience on Mackinac Island brings back so many memories. Although I never liked fudge, even Ryba's Fudge. To those who want a state to visit .. the state is Michigan. I've never understood when saying Michigan all people think is Detroit? And Detroit is coming back strong with its new mayor at the helm. From a troll who lives right on Lake Huron

That is so beautiful. On the German coast, there are several (small, scenic) islands, that have completely banned automobile traffic - they do everything with horses there, too. Even collecting the garbage and other mundane tasks like that. There’s an ambulance, I believe, but that’s about it. I only recently learned about this myself and now I really want to visit 😄

Can I call my first trip to a horse riding supply store, where I only purchased two things, a "Tack Haul" lol? They had allot of socks just like the two places I've seen you go on your channel. I bought a helmet, and a helmet bag. Wearing one is mandatory at the Therapeutic Riding Center where my Natural Horsemanship class is. I really enjoyed part 2 of the island! Have a great evening, Laural
We did that years ago, on Mackinac Island, with no experience driving a wagon and it was a wagon with tires... Only time in my life driving a wagon pulled by a draft horse...

I’ve always wanted to know how this works! I guess I’m just animal sensitive but every time I see horses driving I alway cringe because I don’t know if that animal is ok with the weight it’s pulling. I understand the fundamentals; endurance, knowing your animal, etc... So my question is how DO you know when you need more than one animal? How does that work? I would love to see a video on this subject. I’m sure there’s a lot more to it than I realize. Thank you for such a magical video! ❤️ I really enjoyed watching it.
@angelahames50565 жыл бұрын
animalhow.com/horse-pull-capacity/ horsefaqs.com/how-much-weight-can-a-horse-pull-on-wheels/ The general rule of thumb is that for a regular workday (8 hours) using a carriage (which wheels) a horse can pull 1.5 times it's own weight. So you would factor in the people on board, cargo, equipment etc. to know your full load weight. Of course horses can pull MUCH more than that for short distances. You could have two Belgians pull a semi truck out of the snow for example. That could be 10 - 15 times their own weight, but just for a short distance and time.

Beautiful place! I'll have to add that to my 'bucket' list! LOL I saw in the video where the 'taxi's' stopped the horses near water buckets. Were there water/eating buckets along the 90 minute ride you took with Ace? I really enjoyed going on this 'ride' with you and your family and friend! I'm like you. HAVE to say hi to the horses! But I always ask for permission first. And the flowers! No matter where I go on my motorchair I am always distracted by the beautiful flowers and just HAVE to take photos! So a little 20 minute trip to the store may actually take 30 - 40 minutes! Just can't help myself! LOL
@VersatileHorsemanship5 жыл бұрын
Kaycy Ruffer I am a stop and smell the flowers kind of person, just can’t help it! Ace really wasn’t interested in stopping, if anything I really had to hold him back when we had to stop and wait for others. We were mostly in the woods on our drive and the water buckets are in town. Walking for 90 minutes pulling a buggy is a piece of cake for a horse the size of Ace. I wasn’t concerned about him needing water during that short amount of time.

@@VersatileHorsemanship that's awesome. Yeah, and the horses are probably used to their routes. I will have to look them up and see if they are wheelchair friendly. :) Thanks again for sharing this wonderful experience with your viewers!

That was truly a fun ride! You're a good driver too. Ace is so beautiful🥰. How long do these horses work before they pull them off to cool down? Looked like he was starting to sweat by the end of your ride. The scenery was gorgeous.

Pretty cool ride. I've been looking at some Percheron /quarter horse colts that are for sale, I thought they would be good for roping bulls with and then make a team, only problem is that I already have a lot of horses. lol

The tug lines should be next to the horse, not on the outside of the breeching. Also do you ever stop talking?
@VersatileHorsemanship5 жыл бұрын
Lavender Tea I disagree. The way I’ve been taught is the traces are outside of the breeching. No, I don’t stop talking. But thanks for asking.
