Damn, i literary grow up in “Rayashky”. I was born in the far east of russia in a small industrial town what is mainly a place where gold miners lives. The coldest region and harsh nature is just something what not many people even in russia will ever experience. I just wish the games could have more representation of many indigenous people we have all around the country. Anyway this patch is a really something so well know to me, and i loved the wilderness pack this time so much i bought all of it and build my home town (as best as i could). Thank you❤

I gotta hand it to bluepoch, that was very original of them to choose to make a story about a remote and humble USSR mining town. That's not the kind of setting you usually see in gacha games or even entertainment in general, so i can only imagine how happy you must have been to play that story.

This is extremely unusual for gachas to explore other countries cultures and nations, they mostly stick around china and japan or some far future (which is still works for me since this is all new for European players). Although i didn't grow up in soviet russia i still remember some soviet lifes attributes were present in my childhood so it was a pleasant journey 🥺

I think Rayashki was based on Pyramiden. Coal mining town founded by Sweden and bought by the Soviet Union. I was wondering if the story mirrors some aspects of your history as well. Also, the graphic design based on Russian Constructivism fascinates me as well. This is one of the reasons I play the game. It's like an exploration of art history and history all over the world.

@@hijodelsoldeoriente wow i didnt know about this town. It is actually posible pyramiden is the main inspo the photos of this town is just straigh up rayashki. My town called Ust-Nera you can find a short article about in on wiki. Far east towns in russia was mainly founded by gulag prisoners and stuff, the whole region is basically the darkest part of russian history. So if you are interested in such things then kolyma magadan and gulag are your key words to search for🙂 Ust-Nera is still a place to live for miners but it is also the largest town in Oymyakon region and now has the most developed infrastructure than other smaller towns or villages all around it but it is still is a highly unfunded and in the deep state of stagnation because Yakutia is a mother lode of many resources and moscow just suck it all out to sponsor the war and presidents and his many friends luxury lifestyle. My mother actually run for a “mayor” in ust-nera this year, she is extremely dedicated to the town but it is just imposible to improve that is been abandoned by the government for so long.

When you play Vila’s personal story she is watching tv and there is just the Swan Lake ballet on every channel. You’d probably want to google how a ballet can be linked to political turmoil in russia in 1991. Nice detail to be honest, i hope to see it soon on my tv.

Like some sort of critique against communism since Zeno I presume is a state-owned company with a private army from a communist nation. The fight against mere critters feels empty and naive. I think the intention of the devs is the fromer but since the CCP prohibits any narrative involving a rebellion against the government or any factions resembling such, they made the critters the focus.

At best, you could say it kind of gives off a lot of the ultra-militaristic attitude of some former communist nations (and a lot of capitalist ones, too). If anything, Rayashki itself is much more communist than Zeno: quite a bit of their utopian philosophy looks inspired by original Marxist doctrine, and they don't function that differently from how an autonomous anarcho-syndicalist commune is usually conceived.

This really sounds like some song from late Soviet times, reminds me of ''Kino'' band (arguably the most popular music band in USSR in 80th), but the lyrics and vibe are kinda darker, though. The details in the portrayal of Soviet life may be inaccurate, but it amazes me how developers managed to convey the overall atmosphere and mood. It's hard to believe that people behind this event never lived in USSR or in post-Soviet countries, at least. They certainly didn't miss the point.

I'm not from a big city. Not a miner one though. But when Union collapsed and so economics did, our city was brought to it's knees. My parents were ones to remain here. I was born in a poverty and seen slow Ascension of city. Pays raised, new businesses opened, new factories opened. And every one of them around the one factory that city was centered over. And now I am working at that factory. Our polar day came, finally.

I really love how well the represantation in this game is. Of course they miss small details, but they've (as far as i'm concerned) never really missed to really make you feel the vibe. I cried multiple times during this event and cried again after learning about pyramiden. Great Job. Especially for giving the song russian vocals.

Already listened this during CN release but wanna add more commentary. I actually cried a bit the moment I hearing this since it's the very first time I encounter post punk/new wave as a game ost (possibly in gaming history?
