Our artist are brilliant , but they singing in English. Afrikaans is Groot, we are killing off Afrikaans. Be proud of Our language! I am born in Cape Town , to Portuguese parents. Yet I speak more fluently and Proudly Afrikaans, than those who are. Come on guys , stop killing our beautiful language.

Absolutely true. Especially given the name of the competition. One could expect them promoting Africaans language and culture singing in Africaans more if not exclusively with some tribute to other local languages, not neccesarily only English. Instead, in many cases they exhibit American music cultural distortions that SA together with the rest of the world succumbed to. From behind the logo "Africaans is groot" some features foreign to true Africaans culture cheekily intrude and usurp the stage undetmining the main claim that Africaans is great and has no shortage of talented authors that compose meaningful non - drivel lyrics.

Need not be leaned upon. From behind the logo "Africaans is groot" some aggressive features foreign to true Africaans culture cheekily intrude and usurp the stage, undermining the main claim that Africaans is great, and denying the depth of lyrisists and song writers that the nation has always had. From Ge' and Sonya to Laurica and Bok, Steve and many others.
