As I revisit the Metal Gear Solid franchise for my Versus Series once again. A dream match of mine has always been what would happen if the Legendary Boss who taught Big Boss were to take on his genetic son Solid Snake. Which of these two Legendary soldiers would walk away the winner.

You forgot to mention Snake going hand-to-hand with cyborg ninjas and holding his own, even hitting them hard enough to damage them despite their armor. He's also taken on several Metal Gears with very little equipment and even killed an Metal Gear made to kill other Metal Gears (Rey) with an obsolete Metal Gear (Rex). He's also survived a battery of microwaves bombarding him for over 3 minutes. That is waaaaaay more amazing than giving yourself the worst c section in history...

I think most of the reason he survived the microwave was because of his special suit. And his fight with Liquid was only because of the injections Liquid gave him that would restore him enough to make it a fare fight. Other than that, Snake does win against The Boss in the end.

I think The Boss allowed Naked Snake to win their final battle. She knew she needed to die or else her cover of defection from the USA would be blown. I still believe Solid Snake would win, however.

The boss allowed this, but she also wanted to pass on her ability to her student. But to do this she would have to make sure that he was to be the greatest soldier just like she was.

Yes originally that was her mission. However she truly meant this to be the last fight of her life. She knew snake was the only that can actually kill her. She and snake both gave everything they got at each other and snake overpowered her. The boss was proud that snake could actually do it and was accepting her defeat in the end. The boss wouldn’t want to die in an unpatriotic way by any other means. If she was going to die she was going to die with an honorable battle with who could do it.

The Boss wanted to make sure that she achieved what she wanted on her side of Snake Eater, and that was to make sure that the title of greatest soldier went to someone worthy, which is why she went full on on Naked Snake. If Naked Snake failed, then Snake Eater failed, and she accepted that.

Awesome video, mgs is still to this day my favourite VG franchise of all time. I will say that the durability point should have gone to snake for two reasons. 1st, Snake withstood the microwave hallway in mgs4 for over 3 minutes and he was in a physically weak state due to his old age. 2nd, I felt like my thumb was broken after that ocelot torture scene. Any moment where both the MC and the Player are hurt as a result gets extra points.

The Mark 23 handgun isn't a basic handgun. Its actually the most tested handgun that ever exist due to the fact that it was designed for the assault handgun program for SOCOM. Plus it can be chambered in 45. ACP +P ammo which has a higher pressure and firepower than the regular 45. ACP ammo that can be chambered in most M1911 handgun. The PSG-1 is considered to be one of, if not the best sniper rifle that's ever been made. However its not used by the military. Instead its used by counterterror organizations like Germany's GSG9. Note that both the Mark 23 handgun and the PSG-1 sniper rifle were designed and made by the same manufacturer; Heckler & Koch who's known for making expensive but mostly high quality guns.

All the characters in MGSV seemed confident Venom Snake could handle whatever the world threw at him and he handled the title of Big Boss for over a decade during a time when the world wanted Big Boss dead. I think he was a badass though how he compares to the other Snakes is certainly debatable. Personally I've always interpreted Solid Snake's victories over both Big Bosses as just how much Snake was underestimated by them and their over confidence leading to their downfall.

3TopicsReviewer Actually, Venom Snake is more skilled than Big Boss. That's the hole joke about MGSV and if you look the stats of PW and the TPP stats you will see it (Big Boss has A+ and Venom A++). Also, keep in mind that Solid Snake is a enhanced super soldier, trained since birth, and when he fought against Venom he was in his prime (Solid lived for almost six years doing literally nothing but drinking and being with dogs, so he was far from his prime during the Shadow Moses incident, but still a superhuman). Big Boss is superior to Venom because he has Soldier Genes, but Venom is more skilled, just like Solid is more skilled than Liquid, and Liquid is the superior one since he has the recessive traits (no, he's not the dominant, Big Boss' super soldier genes were a recessive trait, meaning that Big Boss never got his full potential either).

Metal Gear Solid one and two are reverential of the genes of Big Boss as being what makes him the greatest soldier ever. I think Metal Gear Solid 3 has a subtextual counter to that idea, Snake was elevated to his level of skill and notoriety from his education and training (and I'm including when she was fighting him throughout MGS3) from the Boss. She's the real power behind the legacy.

I feel Solid Snake would win against The Boss. He has outshine those that have trained him, he has went though so much and has defeated his enemies countless times. Solid Snake was the true better man of the Metal Gear Solid universe and in the end saved the world without trying to destroy it like The Boss, Big Boss, Liquid Snakes and others he had to deal with. The Boss is a great solider and warrior but she doesn't hold a candle to what Solid Snake has done though out the course of his career as a FOX HOUND agent and as a vigilante of sorts after the Shadow Moses incident. She may be the master of CQC but Solid Snake is more resourceful and has way more skill sets that he wouldn't be limited to fighting her in CQC. Also, Snake has the benefit of being skilled in many different martial art styles that weren't even introduced to The Boss during her time. She would have alot to deal with had she had to fight with Solid Snake. The only thing the Boss has to her name is her CQC skills that is it and being a hero of WWII but Snake can easily counter that from a mile away. Not only would she lose but so would her squad of Cobras if they tried to fight him. Snake would eat them for breakfast.

Here's an idea I'd like to see for a fight: Metal Gear Solid 4 Snake vs Assassin's creed Revelations Ezio, gaming's two top assassins who've passed their prime but are as deadly as ever. Their weapons would be limited to the basics, the hand gun, tranquilizer gun, and stun knife for Snake, and the hidden blade, hookblade, hidden gun, and maybe a sword for Ezio. What I think is cool and ironic about this match up is that neither Snake nor Ezio would be able to rely on stealth. Ezio's Eagle vision would render Snake's hiding tactics and Octocamo useless while Snake's Solid Eye can track Ezio no matter where he hides

Due to timing and circumstances Solid Snake should win this battle because Solid was taught The Boss' CQC style and was able to develop a more effective alternative. Since one of The Boss' strengths is CQC then you create the distance necessary to counteract it. This battle would have to come down to the better tactics to ensure a victory. Besides close range it seems that The Boss is at a clear disadvantage, and Snake is familiar with a lot of her tactics because of Big Boss. Solid Snake would be a very difficult adversary because of his training and overall knowledge for so long. The Boss still intrigues me and scares me a bit but her tactics should appear a bit dated to Solid Snake. Solid Snake would win from long distance and stealth tactics alone because if The Boss is that quick, tough, strong and deadly UP close then I'm keeping my distance.

Snake defeated Gray Fox in CQC he can definitely beat The Boss!!!! He also held his own against Vamp pretty well. POV, The Boss go to tactics wouldn't work against Solidus Snake at all. His technique's and tactics is more adaptable. Between battle tactics and martial arts, Solidus Snake will counter The Boss no problem at all.

Well there are 3 diffrent heights for him depending on which game from this souce here it says in 1999 he's 178cm which would place him at 5'8 which is the version of him I'm using for this match. Nah. The Boss was very skilled, but Big Boss had superior soldier genes. It's genetic, so that can't come from The Boss. Only skills and knowledge, but it takes more than that to win a battle. The Boss may have had an advantage in CQC, but Big Boss was a well rounded soldier, physically and mentally stronger while also having the skills The Boss had. Solid Snake is a clone of Big Boss, so he is genetically the same. He beats The Boss.

Solid Snake beat Venom Snake, Grey Fox in both of his forms. Liquid Snake and the entire Foxhound unit. But he loses to The Boss? Lol nah mate. She is legendary but Snake would eventually find a way to defeat her just like he has defeated every other legendary person he has fought. This isn't even a competition.
