I’ve written this in other places, but it’s appropriate: when I first started watching QI, I saw that people had expressed their sadness about Sean’s death and how much they missed him. It was a very short time of watching that I realized why so many people had said that. It’s obvious that he was gentle, funny, charming and gentlemanly. I’m glad when I come across him. I’m sad that I didn’t “know” him until after he died. 😒

I'm English, married to a German and have lived in Germany for over 40 years. Every time there is an international football competition, I hear from my neighbours that Germany was robbed in 1966! Also, I once left a towel on my garden sun longer. My teenage daughter moved it and sat down . I said "As a half German , you should know that when a towel is on a seat, it's reserved" To which my German husband replied"As a half English person, she doesn't give a damn'"😂

Most (all?) of these clips are pulled from the QI KZbin channel, which has already cut them that way. You can tell because occasionally there’s a tiny bit of the outro audio the QI channel uses left in that this channel cuts out when compiling the clips.

You CAN smoke cannabis mixed with tobacco as long as you keep your tobacco hidden. Once its in the joint the police dont have the right to open up your joint so you're fine. Outside, you csn smoke whatever, wherever, just around central station and the old city centre, you might get a fine....but probably not as most inhabitants AND the police oppose the restriction. I know this because i work in a coffeeshop in the centre of Amsterdam and explain these ridiculous rules daily.

I had a great time in Amsterdam for obvious reasons, and every coffeeshop I visited offered straight cannabis, cannabis with tobacco and cannabis with hash prerolled. It was genuinely this episode of Qi that set my expectations for how difficult it would be to have a spliff in your wonderful city.

Galileo’s reasoning about gravity and falling was stupid. He said that if a light object falls slower than a heavy object, then if you attach them together, the light one will slow the heavy one down, and the heavy one will speed the light one up, which is impossible, therefore they must fall at the same speed.
